All missing today. Injured, suspended or refused to play? Cameron (do you remember him?), or MWH playing as the holding midfielder?

As soon as we missed the penalty, I expected theyíd score. Just always seems to happen. We have a reasonable squad but seemingly no one to bring on to add any spark.
Missing Harris and McCourt badly.

I thought Harris had already served his one game ban for five bookings?

With regard to the talk of them refusing to play, I canít see that one or two players would do that . Surely it would be done as a whole squad decision ?

Wasn't there today I'm afraid. Would be interested to hear how we coped with both McCourt and Harris out. Hope they are back soon.

We were comfortably the better side team in the first half and Theo Archibald's finish was excellent to give us the lead we thoroughly deserved. Had Ironside not taken such an atrocious penalty, I genuinely think that Carlisle would have folded completely and we would have won comfortably!!

As it was they scored with a freakish goal (on the stroke of half time) to go in level which thy hardly deserved. In the second half (as at Cheltenham) we barely got out of first gear (is it fitness?) and Carlisle won the game with a goal that we gifted them after a defensive lapse [sad].

Make no mistake; Carlisle are a very poor team, and we should have capitalised on our first half dominance. In the second half the midfield and attack wore practically non existent and yes we most definitely missed the trio highlighted at the top of the thread.

Kind regards

PB [smi].

Sounds like we chucked it away to a bottom side and had atrocious pick with clearances.

A positive post match interview from DM which I felt was a real breath of fresh air given all the carp that is going on off the field at the moment.

Privately he must be scratching his head to work out why we are repeatedly not playing as well in the 2nd half.

I would be surprised if itís fitness as this stage of the season. Maybe other teams are just sussing us out after 45 mins and so making some tactical changes of our own might help. I think switching the wide men presents a very different threat...

We have tended to concede goals in the last few minutes of the first half in recent times which always has an impact on the second half.

Yes that has been the case some of the time LV. Itís easy to forget that so many of the side are starting matches regularly in the EFL for the first time. The return of experienced and vocal pros like Harris, McCourt, and Cameron should be a steadying influence.

Anyway hats off to the lads for a spirited performance especially given the circumstances [^]

Hi all.

I just want to give you an update from a 100% kosher source with regards to Arthur, Jay & Jak.

1. Arthur Gnahoua reported sick in the middle of last week with a genuine illness and was nowhere fit enough to play last weekend. It would appear that he does not have a clue about who his alleged friend on Facebook is!

2. Jay Harris sustained a knock in the Oldham game, and subsequently got infection in his ankle which has required antibiotic therapy.

3. Jak McCourt (who had been out with an injury for a number of weeks) declared himself fit to play for the Cheltenham game when in truth he could hardly kick a ball with his right foot, and he was categorically told that he WOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO PLAY against Carlisle on Saturday because he was patently not fit enough to do so. Jak would have happily done so if asked which demonstrates his commitment to the Silkmen cause.

I am assured that the lads in the squad really like the club, and want to stay but are understandably hurting about the continued loss of wages which is affecting their ability even to have enough petrol to get to training. Please do not let our angst towards the dreadful situation off the pitch influence conspiracy theories towards the lads who deserve nothing but our support 😊.

Kind regards

PB [smi].
