Has scored his third hat trick in five games for the under 19's and eleven goals in five matches. Surely worth a shot in the first team?

Goals scored in a very different standard.

Yes, but we could stick him on the bench and give him some minutes, especially if weíre desperate. We need to find somebody with an eye for goal.

Look at the photo on the official site - these are kids. He may well be a promising lad - the last thing he needs is to be pitched in against fairly ruthless League Two enforcers at this stage of his career.

Why not go and watch him when he plays in the visit of Category 2 Academy Crewe Alexandra next Thursday in the FA Youth Cup.

The game will be played at the Moss Rose on 31st October with a 19:30 kick-off.

Just so you know it isent official youth team for specific clubs. Itís just a team within the community that play under the team badge

They play a real youth team in Crewe letís see how they get on then

There's No doubt they would probably lose heavily against an established EFL Academy system of elite players. (Like a Crewe Alex).

But perhaps given time, and opportunity next 3-5 years could bare fruit.

If good enough I think these lads will get a chance under the new manager, he knows about youth.

This MTFC youth thing is brand new, needs time. Can't force these your lads into it just yet. Seasons time maybe.

Result for u19 seem very positive, regardless of standard it can only be good for MTFC in long run. FA youth cup is just a luxury for them.

Yep lets see how these young lads do against a cat 2 academy. Crewe are second year scholars (u18s) so a year older than Macc. Lads. Will be a tough test for sure. Macc seem to have some decent talent some of the lads have played for academies like Man United, Blackburn Rovers & wigan. Some of the elite lads need to be playing with the u21s more and participating in training with the first team. They wont get much out of just playing in the U19 community alliance league.[^]

Turns out they did great. Made Crewe hold on for the narrow win.

And that man Tyler James bagged 2.

Yes lads did well. Very tough first half 3-0 down at half time could of easily been five. Then we brought on attacking midfielder Joshua clegg with 20 mins to go. Kid had a instant impact setting up both of tylers goals. [^]

Good second half and an entertaining game. James had two chances and put them away very well. He is good on the ball, works hard and for a small player he holds the ball up well. He is definitely a prospect but personally I think its too soon for the first team. Hope he gets the chance to train with the squad though. Some other good performances last night too.
