Lets hope winding up Wednesday doesn't turn into thrown out the EFL Thursday.

I'm reasonably confident that won't happen LM.

I reckon the EFL would be extremely reluctant to lose another league club so quickly after the demise of Bury.

My best guess would be that the saga rambles on for another month or two. I suppose it will depend on the HMRC reaction to any offer that we might make.

To lose yet another part of their 'business' through failure, would reflect badly on the EFL, though not sure if they could see a juggernaut coming, even if it ran over them.

Per BBC Radio Manchester Sport:

"Macclesfield Town's winding-up petition has been delayed by a 'few weeks'.

Barrister Niall McCulloch said he understood that Brexit was having "some impact" and asked for more time to pay.

Club bosses are waiting for 'international payments to come through'."

I suppose everything else is being blamed on the B-word nowadays, so it was only a matter of time...

Wonder which one will be resolved first?

Bit of a smokescreen really-since when does Brexit stop people watching L2 football? Unless it is affecting the other business which some say is almost non existent.

I hope the money from the Bradford game goes to paying the players and staff.
We really could do with a good FA Cup run this year.

It's not just HMRC - the judge was told today there are two other creditors seeking £190,000 in total (although MTFC disputes the sums), according to Press Association.

Worth bearing in mind that there is also a £180,000 loan outstanding from peer-to-peer lender HNW (at least according to their website) that should have been repaid a month ago.

I hope to god they're one of the two creditors - because if they're not, we're potentially talking about the best part of half a million quid needing to be paid up, and fast. [B)]

From the Bradford Telegraph & Argus....

'Everyone’s favourite topic of conversation entered the football arena this week when the Silkmen were up before the High Court.

A winding-up petition had been issued against City’s next opponents over money owed to HM Revenue & Customs.

Wednesday’s appearance in court was the sixth time in six months for the cash-strapped Cheshire club.

But the case was adjourned again after Macclesfield’s lawyer argued that they were waiting for “international payments” to arrive to help towards their debt – and suggested Brexit was having “some impact”.'
