The lights weren't up to standard, so we didn't switch them on.

Another who has played for us in fits and starts. He started only nine games in the NL championship winning side and ten last season. For me, his biggest contribution was as the holding midfielder and he rarely looked comfortable when playing wide right. His overriding issue was his fitness. Just hope his departure is more for footballing reasons than everything else that is going on.

If you have a listen to Sol's latest interview - 4.10 to 4.25 and 4.40 to 4.50. Strange things going on.

Without pursuing too many conspiracy theories, it could be that SC has seen enough of both Wilson and Evans to help him decide we can do better. He had no say over them being offered two year contracts, but may have made it clear that they could be moved on if the opportunity arose?

That crossed my mind. I think certain players may have effectively been forced out.

Smith - signed by Yates leaves for Northampton for a undisclosed fee. Marsh, Wilson and Evans just go. They are not put on the transfer list so we can listen to offers for them. Is this something to do with the contracts that they signed as they were all Askey signings originally. If so, the last survivor from the Askey days is Fitz - will he just walk away?

None of the players signed since Askey left have gone, in fact Kellerher has come back. All rather weird.

Callum really thrived under John but injuries etc affected his progress. I rated him but what do I know? [8D][:D].

A smashing lad on and off the pitch and I wish him a long and enjoyable career in the future [^].

Kindest regards

PB 😊.

I liked Callum Evans and think he is a League Two standard player. I suspect that he did not fit in to SC's plans and that is why he has left.

Understand JA likes to sign players he already knows, but he now has Evans, Lloyd, Burgess and Kennedy ! I’d say they are all solid Conference / lower end of League 2 players. Surely Vale should be aiming higher ? They’re all players I wouldn’t mind here but I’m not bothered in the slightest that they aren’t.

So Marsh, Wilson and Evans have all left - they were under contract with us - they joined other clubs and we have not received transfer fees? Why?

A couple of possible reasons both financial.
1 We are broke and have to unload players and run with a threadbare squad.or worse fold.
2 Sol has been told to operate on a one in one out policy if he wants to sign new players

Suspect none of them were particularly wanted by Sol but he was stuck with them because of their 2year deals. Would any of them commanded a transfer fee? More a question of finding someone acceptable to the players who’d take them ? Proof,of course, will be who we bring in now.
If only we could find someone to take Vincenti .

Following saltpie's theory we need to get rid of two more players in order to sign 2 goalkeepers!

In recent seasons we have started with about 16 or 17 players and then added a few as the season progresses. I suppose this is the most cost effective way of doing things.

12 days to Exeter. I would say an absolute minimum of 2 keepers and another striker required.

In one of his earlier interviews, Sol didn't seem too bothered !

As if he's already got it covered.................loan keeper from a higher league club perhaps ?

Let's see what happens on Tuesday at Leek.

A black goalkeeper second name was Mallinger played a good season for Mossily last season and looked to have potential to go all the way and play for a leauge club...just a thought

Evans unfortunately was our weak link in my opinion.

As a CM in the National League he did well but as a RWB in Sol's system he wasn't good enough. Even against Congleton he was poor and his mistake for the goal.

Good luck to the lad.

6'4.5" 25-year-old GK released by Swindon in 2019. English born, but eligible for both Chile and Jamaica. Played a couple of friendlies for Chile.

Not really inside info Fola but just something that might cause some concern.

We are apparently about to sign a left wing back. Sol has already stated that he wants to play with 3 at the back and attacking full backs. Pearson would be on the right and the new lad on the left. That would leave Fitz out of the side perhaps. Another Askey target?

Is Vigoroux the one who paid his fine with pennies ? And is this a rumour ?

We need 2 left backs, we should defo keep fitz, wouldn’t mind seeing what fitz is like on the left side of a 3 at the back

We have 7 defenders signed. We have 0 goalkeepers signed.

I think that would probably concentrate my mind regarding priorities.
