Ticket/Season Ticket Prices

Interesting to see what other clubs do to entice new fans into the club. I think we should be looking to make it as easy as possible.

Personally I don't think the current season ticket prices are an attractive enough offering/discount for me to fork out. Iirc if I miss 2 home games all season, I don't get value for money.

Few ideas below:

- Ability to purchase and print off tickets online. This will reduce queuing times.
- Allow ST to be purchase through finance package
- Mini season tickets
- Discount to people who purchase earlier.
- Concessions for NHS workers, miltary and umemployed + public services
- 1 adult and 1 child free season ticket to local schools. Then schools could present these for 'child of the week etc.'
- Concession price for any Manchester United, Manchester City or Stoke season ticket holder. Only valid on presentation of the season ticket.

- Lastly, open the whole stadium so supporters can go where they stand.

Add any more ideas below. I will be drafting all these up and emailing them to the club to see if they intend on taking up any of these.

100% the number 1 for me would be being able to print tickets. I know its a money issue though... [V]

'Discount to people who purchase earlier'. Are you meaning for STs or match day tickets, Fola?

Surely, we've been doing 'early bird' deals on STs for years? 🦅

Per the OS, an adult standing ST is 300, and an individual match ticket 15 (x23), so you could miss 3 games without losing out. (Plus the convenience of not having to queue for a ticket). That does not take into account any 'birdy' discounts.

Don't feel that Premier League/Stoke supporters should get a discount. Why should they pay less than me to watch my own club?

Maybe some more local press would help in wider reach areas?

macchiavelli - I was thinking match day purchases mate.

I still think it would be a good idea from a club point of view to offer discounts for local Premier League fans. Then who knows, if they enjoy their experience they could be converted.

3 games for me unfortunately is not enough for me to pay out right- if there was a finance option I would.

KrYptiX - I agree about the local press. We must be the only club in the FL whose local press don't have a specific journalist specific to the club.

Our only news source is here on the SLE FB group and that is all fans. It's poor going.

I agree about the press but that is not the clubs fault. Since the MEN took over the ownership of the paper the coverage of the club has ben very poor.
I think that if you buy at the fist early bird stage the saving are approxamately 6 or 7 games , however the risk is twofold, what league will we be in and will we still be in existance.

Great Idea...

- Allow ST to be purchase through finance package

Great idea ...

- Mini season tickets

A saturday only ticket would be a good option

- Discount to people who purchase earlier.

We have this for season tickets and used to have for matchday but no longer for some reason; club said it was something to do with league rules when we got promoted - but others still do this so I think another silkmen lie...

- Concessions for NHS workers, miltary and umemployed + public services

ABSOLUTELY not - why should they get a discount for a life choice; They chose their career they shouldn't expect handouts

- 1 adult and 1 child free season ticket to local schools. Then schools could present these for 'child of the week etc.'

Good Idea

- Concession price for any Manchester United, Manchester City or Stoke season ticket holder. Only valid on presentation of the season ticket.

Why do we want their sloppy seconds

- Lastly, open the whole stadium so supporters can go where they stand.

Irrelevant really

Agree with the point about online ticket printing, but, presumably, this would require some outlay for software by the club and someone to monitor the system for possible abuse.

Do any other small clubs have this option?

Fylde do. I remember from that terrible 6-0 loss at their place that it was the best thing of the day haha [:P]

The deadline for an early purchase discount on Season Tickets should be much later.
Chesterfield's was 28Jun and Port Vale's was 30Jun - and they sold 3,416 'earlybirds'!!!

Advance purchase of a 10 match flexi-ticket package. Buy 10 vouchers exchangeable for tickets to 10 matches of your choice during the season. Ideal for those who can't make it to enough games to make a Season Ticket worthwhile. Again, these are on sale at Port Vale.

Cut the pre kick-off queues! Encourage people to where possible, buy their tickets in advance by reintroducing the small discount we used to enjoy. This was withdrawn so we were told, because of a supposed league ruling - which didn't seem to affect other clubs who still managed to discount advance purchases. Yet another porky perhaps?

Go ahead OS, reveal the figure.

If it was an impressive amount, it would have been trumpeted, so draw your own conclusions from the resounding silence.

I'd take an educated guess and state this will be lowest in long time. The ludicrous decision by the owner surrounding LRT will impact not just that area.

The disconnect between the management of the club and the fans in the Alkadhi/Blower era has been the poorest that I can remember in the past 35 years. The handling of the London Road terrace issues have been disastrous and the communication about the future plans for the club disjointed and uninspiring.
The result is probably the lowest season ticket sales for many years which is a great shame.
If this is how AA runs his businesses no wonder he has financial problems and a dwindling number of people willing to trust and help him.

Just rang to ask when season tickets will be ready for collection and was told that they are switching over to a new ticketing system, so they won't be ready until end of July/Beginning of August.

Cutting it a bit fine

Silky_Dandy, STs are always on the last possible minute these days. The new ticketing system is a convenient excuse.

I would be looking forward to things a lot more in the knowledge that we had a stable financial base, and were not paying for this season with loans, and money shamefully withheld from players who signed contracts in good faith last season.

I will support my team until my last breath, but those currently responsible for running it? Oh dear! ☹

If the season starts with an away game (which it does this year) then it is usually later than that. `The season starts on 3 August and the first home match is 10 August, I would expect season tickets to be released between those two dates, and probably nearer the later date.

You can rest assured that the club will grind out every last second of benefit from your ST money before they have to fulfill their obligations.

They wait until the last minute before printing because each piece of paper needs a unique ID on it and they don't want to print many more than they sell on the off chance that there is a "run on season tickets" in the last day or two

For instance let's say that a rumour started that Wayne Rooney wanted one last season before retiring and as a Sol admirer wanted to play week in week out for the silkmen - but he announces this on the 2nd August - there would be a rush for season tickets for people keen to see Shrek kick a ball and his wife in the London Road stand.

Now if they had already printed the tickets they'd have to pay to setup another run - wasting cash.

Equally lets say they knew about this in advance and so printed loads of extra tickets to account for the extra demand and on the 3rd August he realises that there aren't enough Grannies in Macclesfield so decided not to join - what do they do with the unwanted bits of paper

But more importantly you heard it here first - ROONEY to play for Silkmen 2019/20

To field a Rooney next season, we would have to re-sign John, or exhume Mickey!😁

I think basically, the club will bank and earn interest on the ST money, and then wait until the last possible second before producing the tickets before the season starts, demanding that fans collect to ensure the club incur no postage or other logistical costs.
