MK Dons on Saturday

We all know how important it is to get some wins now and MK Dons on Saturday are not the easiest opponents. They are in 4th place in the league and with an eye on automatic promotion. But their away form is mixed with 2 defeats in their last 4 and 5 defeats in their last 8 away games. They score a lot but have conceded 10 goals in their last 8 games.
A clean sheet on Saturday for Macc could see us getting 3 points. A big home crowd would help.

You are right bb. The season is entering a critical phase for us. I feel that we must take an absolute minimum of 3 points from the next 2 home games.

I just wonder what two home wins now would do for everyone's morale and confidence? Even 4 points would be a big fillip.

Heard it on good authority that SC is making wholesale changes this weekend, with as many as 9 changes happening. Thus meaning a lot of players who haven’t played much football will be thrust into action against arguably the best team we have played this season in MK Dons. Also meaning Campbell has all but written this game off! Absolutely ludacris decision if this is the case!

Not at all what we needed, in my opinion 4/5 changes max makes up as strong as we could possibly be. Pearson, Lloyd, Durrell, Whitt’s and Stephens would be the players I would bring in, giving us the best possible chance of claiming anything out of the game.

Is it just possible that SC knows that the players we have all been calling for are the key and he has been holding them back until they are fully fit? Now they will be introduced again.
The players that helped us go about 6 games conceding just a couple of goals, not long after Cameron was signed must be the ones to turn to.

Possibly, but those players aren’t going to just be ‘match fit’ with another 1/2 weeks training? Surely!

As said previously 4/5 changes would be more than appropriate and would neat enough if not make us full strength.

We can then go into the game with some optimism of getting something!

Let’s be honest 8 of the team had shockers last weekend possibly one of our worst performances for a long time many more like that and we would be down so big changes need to be made

Agreed. I can see Durrell and Martis playing, we need three points and those two always look a threat.

.........and in the first fixture, MKD weren't THAT good, despite their near-empty super-stadium and adverts for up-coming events involving ageing pop stars.
We were in a tail-spin then and are (
or are on the brink of being) a different team now.
That said, three points - any points - are vital now. I think our League 2 survival could go right to the wire v Cambridge. Interesting times......!

Durrell and Martis both play down the right so I doubt Sulzeer will start with them both.

9 changes seems extreme - I can't see him leaving out Smith, Wilson, O'Hara, Kelleher or Cameron - Cole or Rose just maybe - Fitz or MWH possibly - MayXXXXXX and Arthur more likely.

Personally I would stick Evans at RB, and bring in either Lloyd or Whit for MayXXXXXX, Durrell for Arthur. I might rest Rose in one of the next 2 games.

But Sol knows more than me!

MK fans are confident after 4 wins on the bounce. Just had a quick look at their MBs.

A random prediction....

3-1 win for the Dons. 'Skill will overcome brawn'! [:D]

A draw today and a win on Tuesday night would be good and keep us in the fight to avoid relegation.

"9 changes seems extreme"

Well that's what we've got - only O'Hara and Cameron starting.

What a depressing performance especially the second half. We were riding our luck in the first half but at least we had some hope of a result at that stage. The longer it went on, the more mistakes were made. By the way, is Mom drawn out of a hat - choice seems bizarre most weeks.

We had to change after last weeks dismal show but 9 is extreme. Good to see some players we have been calling for but similar result

Just like at Bury we were beaten by a better team challenging for promotion. We held our own for the first 25 minutes or so with high energy levels. But it was obvious that we would not be able to keep that up for 90 minutes. The signs of tiring were there at about 40 minutes and the longer the game went on the less energy we had. MK Dons had better players and kept and passed the ball much better than we did. They were worthy winners.
We will have easier opponents from now on so complete doom and gloom could be premature.
Exeter on Tuesday is the proverbial must win game now.

Today made you realise that bringing back an unfit old guard was not right. Bring back fitz in and Kellehrr on Tuesday. We need Rose in with Lloyd. Wilson and Harry in. I think Evans shuffles over to where Durrell was. I know this is not what people want but I think Mathis instead of Stephens too as fitness showed today. 3 points on Tuesday and we are go to Yeovil. It can change. .

I really don't know where to start after watching that I really don't.

The team selection just smacked of desperation. Durrel, Lloyd and Stephens did bugger all in the middle of the park. How the latter stayed on the pitch after half time I'll never know. Had a right laugh when he was named MOTM.

Biabi was woeful. The list goes on I'm afraid.

Be as good as relegated by the end of this month. Lose at Yeovil next week and it's game well and truly over.

According to the OS today was a far from poor showing, if that's the case I wouldn't like to see us play badly.

It wasn't quite what we wanted, the old guard were in evidence in the shape of Callum Elliott and Ryan but in a hotch potch of a reserve team, what on earth was Biabi doing? We faded away second half after a sucker punch corner and their goalie had little to do again. Should have fielded at least three other regulars as you cant sub more than three and many of them were flagging in the second 45. Yes a must win two games now or we are goosed.

Just seen goals, two players collided marking scorer from corner and looks like MK player stood in front of O'Hara for second. Third O'Hara unlucky with rebound from save. Doesn't excuse the defeat but luck isn't on our side at all, two good handball shouts.

First half we weren't too bad. Second half was embarrassingly awful. I thought MK totally dominated the second half. At times they had players lining up to shoot and I thought we were fortunate to get away with 1-3. [|)]

I think a lot was to do with our fitness and energy levels. We started full of running and closing down and as the game progressed we just could not keep it up. Their more superior players overall then came to the fore.

Nothing to stop strikers standing in front of keeper. He wasn’t offside do can stand where he liked for 2nd goal

Yes ok I was offering an explanation of why they scored but but it seems it needs changing back as anyone can goalhang and get in the way. That was part of the spirit of the offside interfering with play.
