Players suggesting they haven’t been paid on time again on various social media accounts.

Who’s to blame? Was there another admin error?!

Very, very poor and unprofessional if true.

They must be XXXXXXed off to put it on social media. They can't be happy with the set up and that will impact attitudes on the pitch. This club needs to explain what is going on and explain its ambitions.

These allegations seem to be surfacing uncomfortably frequently now just to be blithely waved away as minor technical problems. In 2019 it really isn't difficult to transfer cash from one bank account to another on a specified date.

I can't see what would motivate any player to say that he hadn't been paid if that were not true.

We are in the throes of a desperate fight for league survival now. This really isn't helping.

Ah, the usual monthly embarrassing ‘MTFC isn’t run properly’ moment instigated by the people who run this club.

You’ve got to remember though - you can’t criticise our glorious leaders on this board though - their little helpers will be ready to defend them.

If this is true it is an absolute disgrace and could not have happened at a worse time, just when high moral is vital to help the team win our battle against relegation.

This club needs scratching and to start again. The people at the top are toxic and that isn’t going to change. Whether it’s our best player or a member of the kiosk team, pay them on time. It’s against the law and also totally immoral not to do so. Anyone who can have any faith in Amar and Blower moving forward are quite frankly brain dead. Time for change.

We need both high morals and high morale to see us through the present crisis!

This may or may not be connected with the subject of this thread, but I note that, on the OS, the club is suddenly offering a further discount of £20 on Season Tickets, provided you stump up the money by next Tuesday.

Genuine incentive or desperation for quick cash? You decide.

BBC Sport reporting now:

Some Macclesfield Town players have received only part or, in some cases, none of their February salaries, BBC Radio Manchester have reported.

It is understood some playing staff have received less than 50% of their wages with others still yet to be paid.

It is the second time this season they have paid players late, with some not receiving their January wages on time.

"We're aware of issues resulting in the delay of certain salaries being paid as planned yesterday," the club said.

"Some of these issues were beyond the control of the football club and we apologise unreservedly for any inconvenience caused.

"We will attempt to rectify most of these issues today and over the weekend."

In 2018, the club apologised for late payment of wages during their National League-winning 2017-18 campaign.

Majority shareholder Amar Alkadhi later said the late payment was due to a technical issue with his bank.

I notice that the OS says that season tickets for next season are being reduced by a further £20 until next Tuesday.
Some may think that this is generous, personally I think it smacks of a cash flow problem.

It is a day for financial problems, just saw it reported that Notts County have been issued with a winding up order.
The owners are assuring fans that the issue will be sorted out, claiming HMRC are being "aggressive".
At the same time they are trying to sell the club!
Could be good for us but I still find it sad.

What's concerning is the lack of communication from the club, now that this is public news.

Who's to blame this time? It's a joke that we are in a relegation fight and the players aren't even paid on time. What's the point?

It must be demoralising for the players and staff , anyone not being paid by their employer would find it difficult to raise their game under these circumstances.

Wonder if Sol has been paid?!

Once again the transparency to fans by the club has been terrible. As soon as it was public they should have released a statement. You’d think most clubs would do this (if run correctly..)

They say there's no such thing as bad publicity, but I think this falls squarely into that category.

The club obviously wouldn't want this in the public domain if it could be avoided, especially as they will now be viewed as 'repeat offenders'.

This is bad any way you look at it, but, TBF, in Fola's post from the BBC site regarding the 'sorting out', it does mention 'over the weekend'.

Probably time for a damage limitation statement from the club?

A single instance of non/late payment might conceivably be put down to technical issues, but if it keeps on happening......

Interested in Davenport Blues comment about the Singapore consortium and Crawley. I wish them luck.

Living and working out in the Middle east, and previously SE Asia and Africa, I have observed that there are many potential Investors interested in clubs like Macclesfield Town, lower down the ladder but with great potential if given financial backing.

What has consistently put me and probably others off guiding them in the direction of our beloved club and its owners is the way that Amar and Bashar's investment in the club has been treated with such negativity, disregarding the benefit of doubt preferring to bad mouth them and second guess (without the slightest of facts) their intent.

We have a great club, and have survived in recent years not because of massive crowds or great sponsors, but because of a) Amar & Bashar's financial backing and b) the small army of volunteers who somehow manage achieve miracles every week to present our club in a good light for the challenging schedule.

Sol Campbell has achieved a turnaround in our performances and with Amar's continued backing, AND RECOGNITION of his vital role, we can survive relegation and have a great campaign next season.

If as many suspect Amar is footing the bill for shortfalls in our revenue I think we can forgive a bank transfer arriving a day or two late.

HOPING AND PRAYING for a result at Bury Today Come on Silkmen

'I think we can forgive a bank transfer arriving a day or two late.'

Is it just 'a day or two'?

You would have to ask the unpaid players, other staff and their families how forgiving they feel now that this has happened for a second time.

Our average home league gates are up by over 30% on last season so far.

I wonder if the Chairman has paid himself?

If we were Man City or Real Madrid (we wouldn’t be in the position anyway) but they can forgive a day or 2. Our squad probably rely on the money like we do in our employment.

Smoky2, if Oldham have treated their players badly, I really don't see that gives us any justification to do the same.

Club response - "We will attempt to rectify most of these issues today and over the weekend."

Checked my calendar and the weekend is long gone. Is all sweetness and light now? Has everyone been paid?

Point to note Grassroots - most businesses pay wages in arrears ie they pay February wages at the end of February.

It would not be unreasonable to assume that MTFC should pay the feckin March wages at the end of March.
