No Marsh, Lowe, Fitzpatrick, MayXXXXXX or Vincenti (thank F*CK about that one) in the squad Sunday.
Tyrone has already tweeted he wasnít injured. Guessing these players are deemed not good enough for the fight? Thoughts..

Unfortunately, they aren't up to it. Maybe Fitz is. I'd add Grimes, Taylor and Hodgkiss. The step up from the National league has been an eye-opener for all of us.

Have to agree Maccman. All conference standard players unfortunately for them.

The ironical thing is that the player who didn't get as much game time in the latter half of last season is doing well in a higher divisiob, Scott Wilson.

Itís an 18 man squad on match day and that now means several players are going to Ďgo missingí each week.

Sol will be naturally be inclined to give his new signings some game time so itís no surprise many of the old guard were sat in the stands.

I do wonder how much Solís knows about the signings weíve made. Itís not like we have a network of scouts seeking out the targets. Probably driven more by availability offered by agents.

We need to have some friendly matches so Sol can run the rule over the new guys and pick his team and subs based on ability irrespective of whether they are new or not.

If Danny Whitaker is fit again surely he should play at least for part of a game to see how he gets on after his enforced break through injury?

Yes we are missing his level head and passing as we have struggled to create without him.

The last time we did we were invincible at home, I had the t - shirt and were promoted.

The difference is this time the manager left a clown was brought in, the players lost faith and we are virtual down. What would have happened if JA had stayed? Who knows? But I'll tell you this, we would be MINIMUM of mid table. It's not the players individually but who they are as a TEAM. I said this for years as JA whined on and on about having no money. Then stired the pot and we got a TEAM. If that TEAM and him had been left alone we would be safe this year. He wasn't, they weren't and now it's gonna be real close. Sol is running out of time now. He's brought in shed load of players he wants and now should start to produce results (wins) starting THIS Saturday.

If when we went into the Football League Payne, Sorvel, Wood, Askey, Sodje and Tinson had all been out injured for half the season we would probably have been relegated straight back to the Conference.

The league we joined back in the 1990's was very different from the league now. There was still a pool of poor quality sides due to only one relegation spot ( remember Doncaster ? ). While I agree our strength was in the team ethic , I think the 1990's side would only be midtable now. Been impressed with the quality of the play of most of the opposition this season , and the pace it's played at too.

The money has gone up massively since the 90's, the TV money now is huge. The National League/Conference is completely different as well. Most teams down there now are full time, which was not the case in the 90's.

I suppose the point is that, to succeed, you have to be prepared and able to carry the fight when your best players aren't available, and this obviously favours those clubs with deeper pockets.
