So proud of my country tonight and the outpouring of passion at our win was absolutely immense. This is MY ENGLAND who I am so proud to be a part of and long may this remain [^][:D].

Kindest regards

Hands up all those who thought, 'Here we go again', when the Colombians, on the back of extremely dubious tactics [B)], equalised in added time, and then England missed a penalty?

Massive respect to the players and manager for showing superb character to face down the historic demons and emerge victorious. [^][^][^]

We did not have a shot on goal, did not play really well yet still managed to scrape a win.

I hope we can show better against Sweden

I think you can expect the Swedes to be physical and organised, but the Colombians were just a bunch of cynical hatchet men.

Not saying we were totally blameless, but I think 6 yellows, at least 1 of which should have been red, speaks for itself.

I bet our lads are counting their bruises this morning.

Again, why to the refs have to put up with this?
Stop the game, ask the VAR officials who was haranguing the ref (there were too many of them for him to deal with personally), and yellow card the lot following the VAR observations. When they turn into red cards from previous/subsequent bookings, it will soon stop......unless they are dead thick.....
If no action is taken now, it will degenerate into more of a farce than it already is. Some 'non-footballing' members of 'the audience' I was watching with last night in a restaurant bar just found it unbelievable that such childish and petulant behaviour is tolerated.

Build up from the back and going forward is far too slow and predictable. Really need someone to show something different and add that little touch of creativity, magic or spark then you never know.
Still canít see what Stirling offers, so frustrating, the player you know has it but has never done it for country, how much patience have us fans got before he finally does it??

jefft, that includes England players as well.

Henderson & Maguire in particular were on the wrong side of the line last night

It's true that some of our players reacted to relentless provocation, and clearly, 2 wrongs don't make a right.

The match officials (VAR included) must be given whatever powers they need to stop this happening again. If it means games finishing with 8 or 9 players a side, then so be it. Maybe they will get the message than.

I don't want to see another game like that one, whoever it involves.

Does anyone think we could score a goal like Belgium's 3rd against Japan = never in a thousand years - we are not clever or adaptable enough

There is no doubt in my mind that England have improved since our last World Cup outing, but I just don't see our current system being capable of producing a Messi, Hazard, Modric or de Bruyne.

I think it was a telling stat that virtually all of the Belgian starters on Saturday played in the English Premiership.

At the moment, our top echelon of football is being used to develop players from Belgium, Italy, Spain, etc., when it should be benefiting Britons.

I really can't see us having a genuine impact on Euro 2020 as long as this situation continues.

Fossey, the draw for Euro 2020 takes place in December.
The games you refer to are the Nations league fixtures which are supposed to replace friendlies.

It's going to be a bit congested with all the international fixtures to fit in between March 2019 and march 2020 isn't it?
Also, don't get to worked up about this new England team. We looked good at times but when it mattered v a decent team we were bobbins.

That's about the size of it, cf. We beat a few minnows, the media hype turns up the afterburners, then against 2 small nations, Croatia and Belgium (twice!), we fall flat on our faces.

Can't see it being any different in the Euros. The infrastructure to genuinely develop our best players just isn't there.
