Not really, most clubs have players under contract when a new manager comes in.

If you look at it from Scott Wilson's perspective it may be a sensible move to take the 2 year deal offered to him before JA left.He moved up to Macc last year,he's probably settled here now and also just in case the new manager, whoever he is,is unsure about him doing the business in League 2 (?) he will have a contract in force which at the very least would buy him some time with an incoming boss.

I would still like to know though who did the interview with him on the OS - anybody got any ideas?

I thought this might happen. Players signing their deals before a new manager takes over. I wonder who sanctioned the Koby deal after Askey released him? Is Watson coming in?

Could be a good signing. We didn't get the best out of him last season but he has plenty of ability. Baba next perhaps?

Owner could've decided he likes Koby Arthur. Biggest surprise is that we're offering a few two year deals around.

If you believe most people on here, the chances of the owner having ever seen Koby Arthur play are somewhere between slim and zero...

Would be quite weird if it's because Steve Watson is coming in, with Saunders having seemingly rejected the job either yesterday or this morning, and his first act as manager is to re-sign Koby Arthur.

Itís not such a mystery.

The club has made offers to players which offers are now being accepted.

The offers did not lapse when JA left for Shrewsbury.

But Koby wasn't given an offer, so who's giving new offers out ?

The mystery is that Askey released Arthur. Who has given the go-ahead to re-sign him?

Maybe the owner/chairman did not agree with JA and are now signing up players they want to keep?

Regardless of who agreed what, I am personally delighted to see as many players as possible from our Vanarama National League Title winning team having the opportunity to strut their stuff in League 2. This is what I wanted. Bring it on... [8D]

Some would have you believe that Blower decided who stayed and who went so it doesn't make sense that he now wants to bring released players back [:o)]
