Ross Draper has just suffered a second relegation in two seasons from the Scottish Premier League. After Inverness CT were relegated last season he moved to nearby Highland neighbours Ross County (in Dingwall Ron I) only to find he has been relegated again. As I understand he has set up home in the Inverness area I suppose a move to either St Johnstone in Perth or to Aberdeen is on the cards if either of them want him. Or is this time for a return to English football with Macc Town again?

I remember Ross D as being a real MF 'rottweiler' for Macc, and he chipped in with some useful goals.

He's still only 29.

I would have him back in a heartbeat. A real box-to-box midfielder who would replace the void left by whitehead I reckon. However, I feel like he would've had his opportunity to return to England in the past so I'm assuming hes settled in Scotland

My best hope for next season, given what we know (not much!) is consolidation. Let's put roots down in L2.

I think it would really be 'fantasy island' for us to be in contention for the play-offs, given our expected resources.

Of course, it is quite entertaining for the fans to play 'what if', until something actually happens.

He would certainly put or yellow card count up
Losing Lewis certainly seems to me to have reduced it

Itís difficult for footballers up there , he has set up home and got a child now in Inverness but professionally he has nowhere else to go ! Nearest clubs are Aberdeen and st johnstone (Perth) which are both 100 miles away so I suspect he will stay put at Ross county

Paul Lewis a far more likely re-signing than Draper.

Presumably Ron has noted elsewhere that Ross is - with Denny Johnstone - an ex-Silkman plying his trade north of the border with a namesake club?

I loved Ross's bandy legged determination and eye for the onion sack. I have fond memories of watching us scrat 3 points out of Bradford City away c/o RD's cheeky footwork. Then on to the Beehive and Kashmir for beer, 'meat & spinach' and gloating. That day I also saw Bradford's since departed cave dwelling 'Jesus man' on Manningham Lane.

I remember Denny Johnstone, useful player as I recall,
Shame we didnít make a thread to track his every move in detail. Ah well.

As Ron will no doubt know - and would be keen for me to share, Ross County do not play in the town of 'Ross' - they play in Dingwall.

Equally, St.Johnstone are similar in that their home town is Perth.

Were either Ross or Denny to move to other Scottish clubs - e.g. Raith, Albion Rovers - they might continue that trend. Whether they will or not, is a matter for conjecture at this time.

Wouldn't it be ironic if the former retired to become a retailer of cloth instead?

I have been told by people, who would rather talk about cancelled coach trips, that I should not discuss Denny Johnstone and his illustrious, if somewhat difficult to follow, career.

As to Dingwall Draper, does he want to move south? Does his Missus want to move south? Could he afford a 2,000 acre shooting estate in Cheshire to replace his present North British one?

All questions to which I do not know the answer.
