Iíll feel a lot happier if I hear that the clubs hierarchy have secured a happy John Askey for next season. If that happens then the players will start signing up

Better than anyone, Amar knows how costly it can be to get things wrong in the Football League. He had to bear the costly mistake of bringing in Brian Horton and watch as money was frittered away with the Steve King adventure. I hope he had a chance to chat to talk to Stewart Donald at Eastleigh. The lesson to be learnt is that you canít buy success in football. Success in has to be built and built on firm foundations. Luckily we have in John Askey and his team a structure on which a Football League team can be built. I see no plan B, any alternative would cost many millions with no certainty of success.
Urgently , John Askey should be confirmed as our Football League manager and he needs to be given a confirmed budget which is at least the size of the budget that John Coleman has had this year at Accrington Stanley. In his own words Coleman has helped create ď a self-sustaining club who can compete in the English Football League."
If the funding is a problem I think Amar needs to consider divesting or giving a meaningful role to others who are prepared to shoulder the burden. To Amar I say, your standing in the town has never been higher, letís ensure that that doesnít drain away in one miserable season.
To Mark Blower I say that you have achieved great things with spreadsheets and you can thank John for the miracle he has produced but while a lean animal can be fit a starved animal will die.
Miracles donít happen twice.

I hope we keep nearly all our squad they deserve a chance not sure if Steve Watson will come in for baba and arther maybe Richards will be released. I think Luke James looked good in a poor barrow side maybe worth a contract

SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP

For God's sake ENJOY THE NEXT FEW WEEKS. And let the team and the staff do he same. Laugh in the face of any Premier League team supporting person who's team has won nowt or even is plumeting out of said league. Bask in the glow that is success, it doesn't come round often, so when it does just enjoy it! [:D]

There seems to be an assumption here that Alkadhi actually cares about MTFC. He never has and shows no signs of changing.

Since Saturday Iíve heard various negative vibes from certain people at the club which indicate that all is not rosy with the owner and his relationship with those that matter .

Of course cf. Our magnificent team, manager, and fans need some time to appreciate (and recover from!) the heroic achievements of our superb promotion season.

But, by the same token, we can't afford to 'let the grass grow', because you can bet that our next season's opponents in L2 won't. Good players will be 'snapped up' ASAP.

The sooner we can announce our manager, retained list, and fix our budget for the new campaign, the better.

From a fans' perspective, I just hope that, like Pavlov's dog, we haven't become conditioned, and take over achievement for granted.

I really hope we can continue to play the excellent football that epitomised our success this season, but I can't help thinking that life will be MUCH more difficult for us in L2.

Every time the clock ticks someone is making decisions. Salford, Chesterfield and Wrexham are looking to strengthen and until players and management are signed up and happy I wont be. Those who stand and admire a pass rarely get the best results

They need to get round the table ASAP and figure out how this is going to work next season.

Askey has depended heavily on support from dedicated and well-resourced volunteers (who in an ideal world would make excellent owners of MTFC).

Amar needs to acknowledge this. He should give some of these people a formal role in the running of the club, and power as directors.

If he doesn't, he needs to come up with a strategic vision for the club with hard commitments on funding.

Otherwise I fear Askey will walk. God knows what weirdo Amar would pick to replace him.

Im not suggesting signing anyone new - just knowing where we are going with the current lot who are now in the main unemployed and probably pretty keen to get their employment status sorted
