Our contract offers must of been laughable. Cannot really see anyone re-signing. Why on earth would anyone want to re-sign when the whole squad has been dismantled? Pilk and Whit might do but they're old and shouldn't be a mainstay in the side. Expect James, Ross and Fitz to be looking elsewhere and re-sign as last resort.

MTFC if you're reading this, give us some good news and quick or at least put something worthwhile on the site with comments from John Askey regarding the situation at the club!!!!! [V][V][V][V]

Worrying times.

Not bothered about him going other than he was another one who was offered a contract. Looking increasingly like any who can find employment elsewhere will be off.

I was amazed he was offered a new contract, good in the air but when the ball is on the ground his lack of pace and movement is embarrassing.Distribution poor.
I think we have got away with one here.

Only the loss of Ollie Norburn this summer has bothered me to be completely honest.

The rest have been great servants for the club over the last few years but ultimately played a huge part in us falling comfortably short of the playoffs in the last 2 seasons.

Let's not panic and see who the replacements will be first. If the rumours from Paddysboyz are true and 3 players are coming in who played in the Conference last season then maybe just maybe we could improve on what we had.

Could be the replacement that PB was talking about? Think he'd of been on big money at Eastleigh.

I agree with people who are suggesting in isolation McCombe's departure is no great loss. However it's the bigger picture that is potentially worrying, together with the usual deafening silence from the club. I've just been on a Chester website to read about this transfer and they've already announced five signings and I'm sure that other clubs will be doing the same. If those concerned could take a moment from "working their socks off" could they at least perhaps throw us a bone please?

The lack of meaningful communication between the club and the fans is absolutely terrible.

Historically, people loved supporting lower league clubs due to the closeness between the club and than fans- with the impact of social media, Premier League clubs have been able to bridge this gap but we should be one step ahead- this should still be our selling point.

I don't know about you but I don't feel close to the club at all and haven't for a while.

How many times were players only announced as signed when they ended up on the subs bench but never told when they left? Bell, Perel, Wellens to name a few.

We found out Ollie Norburn signed a new deal in January on here, never a word on the OS. Communication with the fans needs to improve.

The club is pushing fans further and further away. Fans are switching on to how predictable the club have become thesedays. Go quiet then when they need our hard earned money, act like we're this lovely family club with a great sense of togetherness, then BAM the cycle starts again.

Could it be James Beckett (apologies if it is not I'm not starting a witch-hunt) that is involved with the Website and communication- on the Web site listed as the 'Media Manager' easily located on Twitter. However, may not be updated as we still have a team on the site and that's not the case at the moment. Not kept up to date well at all though, such a shame.

I think we should seriously try and sign Damian Reeves, not convinced hes finished yet yet some of his runs are too intelligent, had disgraceful service last season

From my observation Amar Alkadhi, Mark Blower and John Askey are not natural communicators and non of them give high priority to public relations I'm afraid. When Mike Rance ran things there was much more emphasis on communication and PR.

In isolation, not a problem but, in the context of other leavers, this is getting ridiculous. I can't believe any manager would want to see the core of his team ripped apart after a successful season? Alkhadi and Blower are the non-league equivalent of Glazer and Woodward!

I would imagine that boom-boom was offered a deal on less money and took the best deal that he could as most workers would [^].

Good luck in the future John and thanks for your efforts at MTFC [^].

Though Turnbull was a very good captain. McCombe must have shed all the timber he was lugging around last season. As for halls he was never captain material!

Dag and Red also having something of a clear out due to low finances.
The contrast between Conference clubs like Macc, Chester, Hartlepool & Dagenham and teams often lower in the pyramid but with huge benefactors e.g. Salford, Billericay, Fylde is startling.

Signed for Harrogate town. Full time team in the conference north. Second behind only Salford city. Managed by ex-Macc centre half Simon Weaver.
