Borebage, I have a US satellite radio station "Soul Town", in my car

they play "grazin in the grass" regularly, my wife says WTF is THAT about, I told her "a Farmers homage to his cows", she rolled her eyes, shrugged, and never asked me again - LOL

The original version was an instrumental by Hugh Masekela in 1968. Willie Mitchell also covered it as an instrumental shortly after that!

As a cyclist I generally loathe petrol heads but I'm somewhat partial to Gary Numan's jalopy.

Laurie Anderson's Oh Superman always got a play if I was near the jukebox.

To be honest, no music should be a guilty pleasure, just a pleasure. I love Roof music threads, where the real pseudos clammer to post the most obscure replies, painting anyone who suggests an artist more widely known as stupid. If the noise pleases the ear, its a pleasure, except this modern DJ shilo. Thats stupid.

Seeing Chicory Tip mentioned sent me back to a pub in Maidstone where I remember a mate once pointed out that the bloke behind the bar had been in the band. Just checked and, yep, the band's founder Barry Mayger was landlord of the Dog and Gun years ago. Nice little boozer off the beaten track as I recall.

No Scoops but a couple of mates are from there so I've had a few nights out. It could get a bit lively in town on a Saturday night.
Some good pubs though and a decent curry house we used to go to.

Used to spend time in Banks and Gabriel’s.

Never had any bother but it was a small town centre and used to be lively if the Sittingbourne or Fav Chavs were in town .

Can't remember pub names as it was a while ago. We always had a good time and never saw any fights. It just got a bit edgy in the centre later on. I remember large crowds getting rowdy and looking like they might kick off but that was it.

I had in mind those quite cheesy songs and/or stuff you wouldn't readily admit to liking. I would happily admit to liking ABBA, Simon and Garfunkel, Squeeze and Elvis Costello (although his Glasto headlining spot was boring). Saw Squueze at Leicester Poly. Top night.

Another cheesy classic: Live is life - Opus

Ha, I nearly mentioned Islands but thought it a step too far! I heard it the other day and that first line is possibly the corniest ever written. However, I then found myself focussing more intently than is healthy on the harmonies between Kenny and Dolly.

And if that's not enough I quite like Begin the Beguine by Julio Iglesias.[rle]

Oh and I agree that the early Spandau stuff was great
