Kendal in terms of basic research I can promise you you couldn't be further from the truth. It is nowhere near that simplistic and some of her issues were much deeper related than a show not targeted for an audience thats 2-3 times younger than the average poster on here.

She was a presenter on the show, rather than a contestant.

Though she did go on record to state that she entered a period of severe depression, after winning Strictly.

It would seem her personal demons were increased, as a result of losing her lucrative job role on Love Island; rather than because her her part in the show.

Yet she hadn't 'lost' the role in much the same way Ant hadn't lost his role on I'm a Celeb. She couldn't continue to present a show about' love' and relationships during a period whereby she was going to court for domestic abuse (something she denied).

The mental health issues were not born of drugs but facets that were deep rooted back to her childhood but accelerated during recent highs and lows of her own professional career.

I don't think its beyond the realms of possibility that she would have returned to Love Island in the summer had certain facets of the case against her fallen her way - her paranoia and fear seems to have taken over since the incident thinking she had everything to lose and nothing to gain. That has nothing to do with presenting an orchestrated, edited, highly polished show about former models trying to get together.

The best trolls are those with a bit of humour. Seeing the funny side of life, with a cutting sense of humour.

Nasty trolling is just a sign of a person who suffers from self-loathing. Usually bullied badly at school.

She was brainwashed by feminist bullshyt and it ruined her life. 40 years old, no husband, no children - they tend to go totally crazy by that point.

I know countless examples. She was fcuked in the head, dating a 17 year old when she was 31? Yep, that's normal.

Feminism destroyed her.

Why do people always blame social media? No one has to go onto Facebook or Twitter or any other app and share their lives. Trouble is is that most 'famous' people (and I use the word loosely) are happy enough to get positive press coverage, attending events and looking all glam but as soon as it all turns negative they blame everyone from the press to social media for their predicament.

It is a great tragedy and I believe she was hung out to dry by a system that should have helped her - however it could have been prevented if she had kept her personal life private (Keanu Reeves is a great example as he avoids these sorts of things like the plague).

It is a tragic, sad situation and - hopefully - one of the lessons people could learn was to back off and not to seek publicity as positive soon turns negative - just ask the Vardy's!

Keanu Reeves [:D]! Jesus. The guy is 55.

Ask yourself:
Was he at an age to engage in social media when the boom began?
Does the $360 million dollar actor require social media to generate revenue or appeal to the tv and film executives (largely 50-70 plus themselves)?
Did he need social media to promote Bill and Teds Bogus Adventure to the 20-30 year old ground at the time?
Do American press hunt down individuals in the same way the British press do? If you're not sure of that answer then take a look at Meghan and Harry.

If you think posting pictures on a social media account with your dog, your partner (of the time) and events you go to mean you deserve the type of press that brands you a tart, domestic abuser and speculates that you career is down the pan? Or how have you reached 40 and not had kids? The fact that you've hit a milestone age that press reports means you're on the way out and so on and so.

Other than former partners (and largely not even them) you'll note nobody has had a bad word to say about her? She wasn't the perfect role model but she wasn't vindictive, nasty, didn't load herself full of plastic or silicone and paint herself out to be something all girls should aspire too.

Keanu Reeves - totally bodacious dude!

Youlittleripper - you missed my point. My point is that Keanu keeps his private life private all of the time. He does use social media promote films etc but no one even knows who he is dating or what he does with them!!

I don't condemn Caroline Flack - it is a genuine tragedy - but there are plenty of pictures of her with various boyfriends or articles on her dating Harry Styles etc.

My only point is that you should keep your private life away from the public (the word private is the clue there). It is possible to do this as several celebs have proved. If you don't like Keanu as an example try Daniel Craig or Julie Walters or - if you prefer younger actors - Kirsten Dunst.

Some people like the attention until it turns bad so it is best to forgo it altogether!

And as for Meghan and Harry...no comment

What Annie said. This is a tragedy irrespective of whether Caroline was a nice person or a dreadful one. Like so many celebrities, she was happy to court publicity in her private life as long as it showed her in a good light e.g H Styles, but was concerned that nothing might get out that would show the opposite. She was apparently concerned that police camera footage would get out (it's called "evidence") that might harm her case. If the case had involved a man who had allegedly assaulted their partner and the partner had said they did not support proceedings the media coverage would have been completely different and probably wholly unsympathetic. But still a tragedy.

No no i didn't miss your point at all. The fact that you've made the same glaring oversights again reflects my point.

She was a presenter. Highlighting multiple actors and actresses (particularly when 3 of the 4 are over 50) really doesn't get the point.

She was a presenter that moved from presenting a childrens show and eventually on to shows that require much more social media output to generate interest for the shows to an audience far younger than the likes of ropey Bond Films or dramas like two of the actors you've mentioned. It is by its nature very, very different. That audience are fuelled by social media and it is very much 90% of their working and waking lives - sadly. I guess my point is sometimes you can only use the tools that fit your career. But you make it sound like the press had zero interest in her whatsoever and it was purely because she posted pictures of social media like 99% of the population of her age and younger. Do you think she wanted to generate photos each day she left her front door of her with her partner of time? So what if she takes 'plenty of pictures of her with various boyfriends'? You make it sound like its the tail wagging the dog.
