l remember him at Filbert street, l thought he was on loan to us. I can also remember him looking really old, and l thought it was desperate to get someone so old. It must have been Stoke then . Memory plays tricks on you.

Am l right in saying they had 2 or 3 top class goalkeepers all injured at the same time ? Farmer rings a bell !

John Farmer, it was who came on loan from Stoke.

He only played a couple of games for us, earning the nickname 'Fatty Farmer' in the process.

I went to Farmer's debut v Everton, lost 2 nil, It was 1974, I think Shilton had just left and Wallington got hurt. Farmer was terrible, he played one more against Newcastle?? and let in a 5hit load

Just looked in OF&F. He played exactly two games. The 0-2 v Everton, then we all trooped up to Middlesbro' the next week only to lose 0-3. Fatty got injured, so was sent back early and Carl Jeyes took the green jersey (and the 2-4 reverse @ QPR apart, did a good job) for 4 games until Wallington's return.
