The Chilwell penalty shout

Iím confused. Firstly I thought there had to be a clear and obvious error to overturn the referee. Iíve watched it from about 5-6 angles and I canít say one way or the other whether he was fouled. So surely you stick with the decision? Is that right.
Also if he wasnít fouled according to VAR then he dived and should have been carded. Itís either one or the other yet they chose a 3rd choice and gave Everton ( it seems) a free kick. I just donít understand it.

The odd thing is that an angle was shown on MotD which clearly showed there was no contact but seemingly was not available to the VAT team...[:O]

Surely it's still possible for him to have leapt to avoid the tackle, without simulating a dive? And I thought the ref gave a drop-ball, rather than the goal kick that it should've been if not a foul?

It has now been reviewed by the VAT team and they said there's a 20% chance of a penalty

The Everton players were desperately trying to get Chilwell booked afterwards. I thought Sibide was going to throw himself onto the pitch and start crying his eyes out when the ref didn't get the yellow card out.

I thought Vardy had been fouled just before then.

As well as the clappers, the club should give everyone a card with a number 10 on it.
When an opposition player tries an outrageous dive to try and win a penalty, 25,000 supporters hold up their cards.

Perfect Dive, how cool would that look on MOTD. :)

LG, that is exactly what I thought. I've not seen it explained anywhere by ex-refs etc. Didn't make sense.

ps. if it was a dive then it was done with amazing synchronicity. Only the players themselves will know but the intent was there.
