Not being that internet savvy, is it the case that I can sign up for their 30 day trial from my laptop and view on my TV? It says smart TV and mine is four months old...
Any catches?

If you have a BT Box, the app is installed. Just need an account.

btw, I had an Amazon Prime account once by mistake when I ordered something and it wasn't easy cancelling. It wasn't as easy as click 'here' to cancel, you had to drill down through loads of guff to find the right place.

About seven quid, I think.
I also wandered in to Prime thinking it was about reduced delivery charges but managed to reverse out.
A Netflix fan, Amazon has to offer far more to get a sub out of me for about the same fee.
Thanks for the advice, will give it a go...

If it's a smart TV then the Amazon app will be in the same place as you see Netflix app and BBC iPlayer app. Just log in and you're up and running.

It's dead easy to cancel towards the end of your trial, just log into your amazon account on your laptop and the unsubscribe option is pretty clear to see in your account settings. Even if you forget just go into the help menu and you can chat to them to explain you forgot and they'll refund.

Not everyone buys stuff on Amazon, I prefer to do my bit to keep real shops running, especially the smaller ones. I give my details to as few firms as possible; with flights it's impractical not to.

Have had to abandon my socialist principles for a month so that Jeff Bezos, the worlds richest man, can give me free streams and prezzie deliveries.

Now the issue of Amazon's status has risen, yesterday a demo outside their HQ sought to publicise their quite amazing paying/not tax paying record.
I too use them and hold my nose but the sad fact is that numerous countries and companies are in that area for me.
I got reprimanded by people for stopping over in Bali once.
It's where to draw the line that presents the problem..
