Really want to be positive about him, but find it so difficult. As you say the negative passing is second nature now. His attempt to stop the cross yesterday which led to Woods goal was pathetic. Apart from pace he is miles behind Fuchs. I did actually see him pass with his right foot (standing foot) yesterday and he didn't fall over.

So if Fuchs is well ahead of him why isn't Fuchs in the matchday squads?. Give the kid a break he's part of one of the best defences in the premier League at the moment and a England international.

Daz, like I said, I want to be positive, but it's difficult. Perhaps you can tell me what he offers us?

At one point yesterday he aimlessly kicked the ball out and proceeded to give Barnes a b*ll*cking ! To me he seems to have a go at Barnes quite often during the game, masking his own inadequacies, often running with the ball towards Barnes then passing to him having taken his space.

Daz as FIR says what does he offer the team Saturday 95% of his passing was either backwards or square which gives no impetus to a team trying to overcome losing.

I saw that with Barnes yesterday. It was obviously Chilwell’s fault.

I’ve never got why he’s ‘supposedly’ as good as some think. Obviously Southgate and BR see something but I don’t get it.
He can’t cross. When he does it rarely leads to anything. I was gobsmacked last month when he was put on corner duty by Southgate vs Kosovo. FFS. Despite them being not exactly world beaters he not once took a corner that lead to anything. Their goalie was never tested.
He’s an average tackler. IMO he rarely goes in full blooded.
His heading ability is weak. He’s been caught out so many times on one on ones. Classic example was at West Ham last season whereby Antonio despite being under 6’ easily outjumped him.
Yes he gets forward but does more reverse turns than a 3hr ballet routine.
He never scores. Just one at Àrsenal last season which IMO was an OG.
£50M! Really.
On the opposite side we have the total opposite in Ricardo whose turned out to be a proper full back.
Personally I’d give James a go. I believe he’s a right back but played left back every game for Luton last season.

Spot on LG
When has Chilwell ever delivered a cross like Barnes did for Vardy yesterday?
His Under 10's effort at stopping the cross for Burnley's goal was also pathetic.
He hasn't improved at all in my opinion. He did play brilliantly v Liverpool away last season but this time around he was embarrassing. Treading water.

I was there right near him in the second half and he was awful, I would have taken him off and put James on, Chilwell is a weakness on the left which which teams seem to target him which is why Schmeichel bolloxed him for the goal he probably needs a rest.

Let’s be honest though, you were all itching to get downstairs at halftime and rip into Barnes.
He was dreadful, looked lost and as if he’d never played with the team before.
Then all of a sudden he produced a cross like that and all was forgiven.
