The present deal is the UK pays the EU mafia £15 billion a year and is dumping ground for eastern European dross .

You cannot deal with a dictatorship that's become obvious, why are you scared of self rule and freedom is more the point in a country that was able to create democracy on one third of the planet and used to be one of the most inventive.

Get off your knees ,serf.

Although it would be with disappointment I would take a No Deal over staying in. The other EU countries should be alarmed at being trapped in a setup that that cannot get out of, its like the old Soviet Union. In your domestic life you would not sign up to something you could never escape from.

Other countries would find it a lot easier to get out, they don't have the 'backstop problem' to deal with.

Apparently in many countries the anti-EU parties have rowed back from demanding a referendum after seeing the mess we've made of it. I believe they're now more interested in changing the EU from inside.

There's no such thing as "No Deal".

Just a failure by the Tory government to reach a complete deal by a set deadline; should it happen.

Leaving the UK in a weakened position to negotiate a new deal(s). It also benefits the EU. The UK will be forced into a fire-sale of its sovereignty. Manufacturing businesses and financial institutions may flow to the continent.

The threat of "No Deal" which Boris pinned so much on in negotiation, will have been privately laughed at by leaders in the EU.

Perhaps I'm wrong. Maybe Boris is planning on turning us into North Korea. Or he thinks that trade with the nutter in the States, Australia and Venezuela will make up for the EU losses?

Of course this all only applies if we are thinking about trade. But of course, leaving the EU without completed negotiation, has an impact far beyond trade.

"No Deal" is the option favoured by Disaster Capitalists, state-shrinkers and the demented. But it is a fantasy.

Sixthswan, I'm not sure if this has occurred to you but as things stand;
The EU don't want us to stop paying into the club
The Germans in particular are acutely aware that they will have to pick up the tab if we don't pay in (all the other economies are in trouble)
Our band of merry parliamentarians have forced a vote to say we can't leave without a deal. (I'm not sure if they're all stupid or have an agenda).
But if we can't leave without a deal and the Germans won't do a deal we're stuck with not being able to leave. A situation which suits the EU.
So if we assume that our representatives in Parliament are not all XXXXXXs it means that they have set out from day one the make sure the result of the referendum is not acted upon.
Now whether you voted in or out or even if you think it was only advisory you should be extremely concerned about this because either we're being ruled by a load of charlatans or we've been totally out maneuvered by the Germans.

And you thought you could overturn it, in the very real world things are definitely different. The politicians of whatever persuasion know that if they ignore or overturn the democratic will of the people then anarchy is but a short step away. If you end democracy and take away the right of every citizen to have a say in their own life and country in which they live in then you are heading for the likes of which have not been seen in this country since the English civil war. Do we allow the noisy minority to dictate to the majority? Do we allow them to nullify our vote just because it doesn't suit them? No, we are not going too. This is why the coward opposition parties refused a general election because they knew it would be fought on the Brexit issues and them alone, and they knew that 17 and a half XXXXXX*d off disenfranchised voters would vote for anyone who said we will leave Europe including most Labour voters. It's why that chicken sh*t Corbyn ducked out of it despite screaming for one for the last ten years. In real-time the leftwing XXXXXX*rs on here count for nothing, just like they wanted your vote to count for nothing. Bring it on.

Hey Birstall.

Feel free to disagree. It's a free world.

We didn't vote to "Leave". A consultation about the EU resulted in a narrow majority to "Leave".

Did the consultation mention how we would leave, or when?

We already have trade agreements with the EU. Do you think starting from WTO terms would put us in a favourable position, in agreeing new trade agreements?

I'm sure you are fully aware of the issues in the WTO at the current time, with the USA and China looking to undermine it and the Appellate Judging crisis?

We enter a big week for the nation. It is clear that Boris has been ramping up the effort on getting a deal. Because "No Deal" will not happen and without a deal or extension; he will no longer be PM.

Harwich would you care to tell us how to reform the E.U if none gets to vote on that reform? because reform from within is not reformed at all is it? seems to me that an unelected body that is not answerable to anyone but it's self is a very good reason for anyone who holds democracy dear to stomp off and refuse to be part of?

I'm not sure what you mean but the EU has clearly been reformed many times over the years. Wouldn't the reforms be passed by MEPs?
The MEPs that people vote for.

You were lucky at hospital Hackers. Last Sunday, I waited for eleven hours to get my 83 year old Mum into a ward.

Harwich, I could ask you that based on sound facts, why will it be a disaster to leave the EU ?
Fact is that you cant give facts because since Brexit has not yet been enacted, then your arguments are all based on speculation.
Regarding project fear, it is a fact that a number of impending disasters have already failed to materialize.
It seems in this media(tv) biased country we live in, that virtually every question asked carries a biased slant against Brexit. In a fairer place, the lead figures of the remain/revoke brigade should be held to account for some of the ridiculous claims that they have peddled.

Harwich. We pay a lot to be part of the EU. We import far more than we export from/to the EU, therefore we are subsidising the EU to compete with us. It doesn’t make sense

Serious question sixer. What are you going to do/say when we actually leave at the end of this month? perhaps an elongated call to the Samaritans or a one way trip to beachy head? How about stomping off in a huff to catch the Euro star never to return?[:D][:D][:D]
