In my many years of working at BA I had a few of these small world coincidences. The best two I had included ‘oh you’re from Leicester’. Whereabouts? Oh Cropston. Where? Turned out they lived 3 doors down from my folks and knew them well. Another was someone who recognised my name from when we were 8 years old. Lived 4 doors down. Bizarre isn’t it.

Many years ago, 1950s when travel wasn't so easy my mam and dad took my grandma and grandad to Bowness for the week, anyway they went for a drive to Rinos Pass when they reached the summit there was a car park so they pulled in, grandad got out and voice said "hello Joe fancy seeing you here" it was a chap my Grandad knew from the Union in Hinckley

When in Bali for my 50th, went into a shanty looking shop near Kuta Beach selling knock off football strips ...... Barca, Real, Ajax, United etc. etc. The shop assistant was more or less on the floor asleep at the time, but livened up when we walked in. Muttered to my other half that i couldn't see a Leicester City kit anywhere, as you do, and as quick as a Flash he answered "Leicester, i have been to Leicester, and it's great !" He then showed me photos on his phone of him and some others coming out of The Litten Tree, The Queen of Bradgate and The Highcross pubs on High St. in town. Turned out his Father ran a Thai Food Restaurant and a party from Leicester went in when on Holiday there. They were really well looked after, made friends, kept in touch and visited a few more times. This guy eventually paid for the then 18 year old lad to come over and stay with them in Oadby for a few weeks. And, yes , the Thai lad was a Fox, and supported Leicester City ....
