Hate him - I've watched very little of his shows because I can't stand him and his style.

However, if I were in a position to ban certain types of shows I'd like to ban cookery shows, virtually all types of reality TV, formula one racing and Can't Pay - We'll Take It Away, which clearly wouldn't do.

The fact is that these people want to watch Jeremy Kyle, otherwise they wouldn't watch it. They're probably the same type of people who would watch public executions, or in the age of the Roman circuses watch horses who've been trained to mount slave girls.

I don't really give a toss about this guy committing suicide, people commit suicide all the time and the guy knew what he was getting into unless he had failed to watch Jeremy Kyle beforehand, which has to go down as a lack of research.

I am genuinely confused. Are we heading for a nanny state, or a more civilised way of doing things?

I don't like the format of the Kyle type of programme.

Invite people into a pressurised TV studio, make them angry, encourage them to show anger, then try to stop them being angry and at the end; pretend that they will be supported to make things right.

Why not just support them from the off, rather than go through the anger bit?

I know it is for "entertainment"; but that just highlights the problem with the show.

As that priest said at the recent funeral of a reporter. Why does it take someone to die before action is taken?
It was a show which offended any sense of decency for no better reason than it entertained. Televised bullying of vulnerable people by a tyrant who represented and endorsed the way some among us seek to treat others.
I expect he will be back to peddle his sanctimonious pursuit of wealth.
