What has the council done to honour the title win

Seemed to be plenty of faces lauding it when the title was delivered
Nowhere is there anything spent by public funds honouring the club or late chairman
Pathetic[:D]

They're going to redo it somewhere in City hopefully where it'll remain forever. Did thehe grafito artist paint it out?

Did the council own the property on Kate Street?

No, owned by Mark's Electricals who, I believe, has sold the property.

The council have had 3 years to do something appropriate.

To clarify this as best as I know,
The buildings owner has asked me to do this again and in the process of finding the right location. The plan is to also include Vichai. I donít know the specifics of what is happening with the site at Kate Street but the new owner and the previous have bent over backwards to ensure this wall can find a new home. They totally understand what it means to the Leicester fans, and of course Iím blown away too! Still after 3 years the words about it are amazing.
There is no date set yet for the new painting to take place.
But for sure this wasnít painted over without a lot of thought and effort to find a new space for the mural.

My friend @k1elos sent me this, the wall in Leicester is getting buffed.
Iíd like to ask for no negativity about it, even tho itís sad to see it go. itís a tough situation for the wall owner past and present, and even the poor guy who had the job to paint over it.
Ive been asked to redo it somewhere else, I will do it if people want it again. My own personal thoughts are to let it go. But if itís wanted by people in Leicester I would for sure, they gave me amazing memories.
Thereís a lot of metaphors in this, when it happens in general I mean.
Itís a moment in time, just like all things in life it can disappear, but that doesnít mean itís gone. Just because we canít see it anymore it doesnít mean we donít feeeeeel it.
Sometimes itís necessary to move on, and rather than think about whatís lost, to think about all the good things, even if it was only for a little while.
And! A chance to make anew! Regrowth, rebuild, redo, keep going! 🌱
Itís a layer of paint on a wall, with another layer of paint now on top, but itís still there.
Leicester are champions of the Premier League in 2015/16. That cannot be erased and ultimately thatís all that matters

Why did it have to be painted over though?
What harm was it doing?
Surely it was no bother to the new owner, in fact, if anything, decent publicity for them.

In 1998, the Council swiftly commissioned the Sporting Success Statue in Gallowtree Gate, after the three main sports teams had all won a trophy in the same year.

Part of Waterloo Way was renamed Tiger Way, after the egg-chasers won a European Cup.

Leicester Tigers were also awarded Freedom of the City. As were Leicester Ladies Hockey Club in 2014.

It is astonishing that Leicester City haven't been commemorated yet; but I have a feeling that the Premier League title win was so huge that the Council have no idea what to do to honour it.

Personally I'd like to see a decorative archway at two locations. At the King Richards/Fosse Road junction spanning across from the site where Leicester City were founded. Another arch should be placed at the Narborough Road/Westleigh Road junction. The site of our first game and along a route used by many home and away fans.

There needs to be a statue or commemorative structure at the stadium - though I'm sure that is in the pipeline. I'd love to see something similar to the memorial archway at Victoria Park. We should try to impress.

Freedom of the City goes without saying and should have been done in 2016.
