Good Afternoon
Staying in Greenwich on Friday & Saturday 24th/25th May.
Would you be able to recommend a good place to eat on Friday evening.
Ok for Saturday evening as we are taking in a show in The West End.

FNQ - Bit of a problem with eating out in Greenwich cos a lot of the restaurants have gone down market to cater for the influx of students when the University of Greenwich was relocated there a a few years ago. So you now get faacking dumps like Nandos these days.
Also they have gone down market to cater for the daytrip tourists.

If you are looking for pub grub then my local the Plume Of Feathers in a back street called Park Vista (right alongside Greenwich Park) near the Maritime Museum is pretty darn good.
Mention my name (Leicester George) and you might get an extra roast spud (but probably won't). Its a good old style back street pub genuine as they come and decent pub food.
20 yards from the pub is a metal strip across the road marking out 0 Degrees of latitude - The Greenwich Meridian. You can take a photo astride it and be in 2 hemispheres at one time.

We also like a gaff very near the Cutty Sark ship - Bianco 43. Its a glorified pizza and pasta gaff but not a chain and bags of atmosphere. The pizzas are good quality so are the pasta dishes. Best seats are upstairs. The menu is printed like an old fashioned newspaper which is fun.

Also in Nelson Road right in the centre is an Argentinian gaff - Buenos Aires. The North Herts Foxes had a decent meal there recently and were impressed . Mainly steaks but they are great apparently.

Avoid Sticks & Sushi - a rip-off Danish gaff masquerading as a Japanese sushi bar. Rip-off Copenhagen type prices.

That's it. Hope you enjoy. Can't join you. I'm off to Spain that day.

The Gate Clock,Wetherspoon's,is a really cosy gaff right outside Cutty Sark Station. You can eat your delicious main course in the Northern Hemisphere and then move across a table and have a tasty dessert served up in the Southern Hemisphere!

Thanks very much George and much appreciated.
We will go to either your local (Plume of Feathers) or Bianco 43.
We will definitely go to your local for the 0 degrees of latitude.
In March last year we went in your local when Plymouth were playing at Charlton so we know where it is.
Have a great holiday in Spain and again many thanks.
