I know I'll get shot down in flames but the last two games have been pretty dire almost Puel like,my cousin who like me is a life long city fan feels the same, (eg we beat Man City and Chelsea earlier in the season) . I favoured Benitez anyway and what he's doing with Newcastle with little money and a toerag like Ashley is amazing, I really hope I'm wrong.

Coming home from The Etihad with only a point was the last straw for me. Get rid and get Mark Hughes in[^]

I reckon the best way to judge a new manager, is on the last two games of the season.

Especially a narrow defeat against the richest club side in the world and a draw against the seventh richest club side in the world.

When Kompany's goal went in last Monday, I felt exactly the same as I did when Leon Clarke scored Sheffield Wednesday's 3rd against us when they beat us 3-1 at home just before we got relegated in 2008. And Sunday's 0-0 against Chelsea was the equivalent of the 0-0 at Stoke that sent us down the following weekend. I honestly don't know if I can pick myself up for next season [sad]

As I said I hope not but since Claudio left we've staggered from one manager to another.

"Staggered from one manager to another"? We've made two poor managerial appointments since Claudio left, followed by what looks like being a very good one.

I can'd decide whether you're on a wind-up or you really are as daft as you come across.

You've got to be joking Clapham (you probably are).

That Sheff Weds game sent me into despair and I plunged to my lowest point as a football fan, when we got relegated to Division Three.

The Kompany goal was just a bit disappointing, as we had held out longer than any other team this season at Man City - before conceding.

The Chelsea 0-0 was two teams who were already on the beach.

After the Stoke game, we knew we were through the trapdoor into the unknown. You know; the place where teams like Cov live.

After the Chelsea game; we had one of our highest ever finishes.

Oh woe is us......

Prepared to give the bloke a chance but that performance against the Geordies was as bad as anything under Puel
Sunday when there was a chance to entertain we failed against a side who played for two hours three days before
He has a very mixed record in England , for me the jury is out[:D]

Puelís work was not all to the detriment of the club. Yes there were some stinking performances on the pitch but he carried out valuable transition work with the squad, dropping the old guard and bringing in young players.
Someone had to do it. Rodgers can be thankful that this work was done, or partially done, so he hasnít had to do the unpleasantries.

Plenty to do over the Summer.
My hope is that BR gets shot of Gray, Nacho etc and builds a squad with real strength in depth. Our subs rarely make a difference and too often just make us worse.
Sooner have BR than Puel though. Most of us were beginning to self harm!
A few years back 9th would have been cause for celebration. Perhaps the yo yo years have gone for good?

Please stop exaggerating how easy the chance was, it wasn't a sitter, he should have hit the target but a goal was far from guaranteed.

Kin hell! This board gets crazier all the time and now Harwich has Hide hanging onto the coat tails of the all time master of pessimism.

I can understand Rodgers putting Ian Nacho on at Man City. He probably thought if he really can do it surely it has to be where he scored goals for his former club. But Nacho fluffed his lines and Rodgers now knows just how bad he is. Perhaps it wasn't an 'easy chance' but it was one most Sunday league strikers would have expected to get 5 yards closer to the goal. All in all it meant we lost by a single goal away from home to the best side the Premier league has seen. Jeeeeezzzz...Rodgers should hang his head in shame.

As for the Chelsea game out of respect for what Shinji and Simmo achieved for us he gave them a farewell run out and I for one am glad he did. Would Puel have done that?

And Harwich in view of the dross you must have seen over your 50 years watching City surely losing away from home to the champions to a single goal of the season effort and getting a draw against the Europa league finalists is not a sign of impending disaster.

It's the way Rodgers likes to play passing from the back trying to find openings. We are now a team who look comfortable passing the ball.

Good god - under the Claude I was seriously considering getting rid of the season tickets but now I feel as if we have hope!! I have actually stayed to the end of the games recently and even jumped out of my seat once or twice. Also Vards scored almost as many under Rogers than he had the entire time under the Claude!! Come on - life is good!!

For what it's worth, I've never since MON felt that this is such the perfect fit for both manager and club.
I really thought we would struggle to get a point from the last three games... four!

We didn't score because we defended almost on 18yd line, even Vardy and Madison Daz that's why Kompany had so much space and time, we weren't even playing counter attacking football we could have beaten them as Ineacho s miss showed (they're not great defenders) if we'd only bothered to attack I'd have rather lost 3-2 as Newcastle did against Liverpool than defend all game! Or perhaps Rodgers didn't want Liverpool to win it as he didn't when he was there ?
