Is Chilwell now a figure of hate

Report Message | Email Message To A Friend | Reply To Message

After this weekend it seems Ben Chilwell has become one of most hated players ever to wear the Blue shirt.
The amount of hatred towards him both at the ground and in every single forum and facebook site in unprecedented.
Is it some sort of record to have a England first team regular at a fairly small provisional club like Leicester who is shown so much derision?
I am quiet baffled by the scale of the derision
Maybe we have to many happy clappers who go just to moan and clap their stupid clappers, throw them in the bin burn them and get behind the team because that support on Friday was shocking especially against one of our young players who has done so well this season

Not hate.
Frustration.
And sheer amazement that a 'promising young England international' like him can be so debilitatingly one-footed.

The whole team did though Daggers but it was like everyone was waiting for him to fail.
And no way was he the worst player for us, i Will hold my hands up and say Gray was after I had defended his previously

I don't hate him. He just frustrates the hell out of me.

He runs with the ball brilliantly down the left and gets into plenty of attacking positions. It's just that final delivery or pass that isn't as you'd expect for somebody being linked with such big teams. Personally I think he has improved defensively no end aswell

It'd be great to see him score once or twice

Not hatred - exasperation.

He just would not give the ball to Barnes unless he'd got himself in a hole and by then Barnes was hemmed in.

And I'm still waiting to hear when anything came of one of his runs or crosses. I can't recall a single assit. But I can remember a number from Fuchs.

Leave him alone. He is still learning his trade and if people keep on at him then he will get worse . Encourage not Discourage.

Agreed Carapace.

If he can improve that final delivery and offer a bit more when he gets in the final third then he elevates to the next level.

Plus he did get an assist against Bournemouth

There will always be a scapegoat. Always has been, always will be. As soon as one is forced out, another will be found to replace him.
I don't know about it being human nature, but it certainly seems to be football fan nature.

Valid criticism isnít hate. Heís always been a dodgy defender and there have been lots of criticism of him all season. Heís being paid a mans wage in a mans game, how long can we keep using heís young as an excuse

Not sure if you have noticed but the majority of leicester fans can barely read and write let alone judge the capability of a professional footballer.

friday night .....one of ten who from the first five minutes you knew it was going to be a bad 'un. Chilwell is a frustrating character with the attributes to be a damn good player but keeps on doing the self same in a lot of matches good going forward then lets himself down with poor second phase.

How anyone can begin to hate Chilwell is beyond me when Gray is on the pitch.
Chilwell is frustrating at times but Gray is downright crap no end product.

He won't pass to Barnes and is not a good defender but our right back isn't either(although v. good in attack)they are up the park most of the time you can't play two slow centre backs if the full backs are up the field most of the time( how many times did you see Simpson covering for Wes?) However it's not the players fault its the managers, he picks the team and tells them what to do.

Seems like he has taken Claude's place as the man everyone loves to hate. I find it baffling, bewildering, amazing, unbelievable & most of all absolutely ridiculous.

You'll miss him when he's gone.

Sammy I think a lot of our fans are bitter because they were so spectacularly proven wrong after saying he wouldnít get in our team to go onto be Englandís first choice left back and scouted by top 4 clubs.
You will find every opportunity now they will try and have a dig but the problem is heís young player and you will always get inconsistencies.
Laughable really if it was just him to blame the other night fair enough but everyone was crap

Yorkie: there's a legal battle going on in the High Court over a highly disputed love child case. Adders and Caringtonfox are spending silly money trying to prove that 'Chilly' is their own flesh and blood. As ever the legal profession are coining it in.

Elsie_Heffsey is bang on the money with his thoughts Adders. And so is Rino too.

Chill(y) out me duck.

Good evening KPBW Iím perfectly chilled apart from being stuck at home with the wibbly wobbly season starting (Caravanning) just enjoy getting a bit of a rise at times.
But however he is getting loads of abuse now and seriously it can be damaging for the long term future of the club especially when we are building from youth with the training ground in mind.
Martin OíNeill did have a good point about our fans and sadly things havenít improved over the years
