Why do we try and play everything through him ? he made Barnes look bad tonight and if Fuch had played tonight we would have won comfortably. Its the worst i've seen him play, and i'm not a fan in the first place.

Rafa won this tonight, a top class manager who got an inferior team to out play us with his tactical know how. Why didn't Rodgers change our set up in the first half, we could all see that we would never break them down playing like that.

Chilwell, Barnes, Tielemans, Vardy, Morgan, Ndidi, Pereira, the referee

Can someone tell me the last time something positive came from one of Chilwell's runs forward.

Tonight he should have been giving the ball to barnes 40 yards out so he had the chance to burn them for pace. Not at the point Chilwell ran into his cul de sac.

He transitions well which is why it ends up with him so many times. He carries it forward at pace. It's almost as if his brain can't keep pace with how quickly he transitions.

Barnes didn't help him tonight.

But you do wonder how he gets picked for England when you see him play like that.

And how he is linked with Man C and Barcelona.

Barcelona FFS.

Itís not just on here but all over the Facebook sites seems everything that happened last night was all Chilwells fault.
No mention that Vardy was completely hopeless or Tielemans was crap because it donít fit the narrative.
So Southgate the England manager is wrong, all the scouts at Liverpool are wrong, the Man City scouts?
Have I missed anyone out Barcelona perhaps?
Yes he had a bad game last night but name me one player who was and better and nobody put the effort in he did or made the runs he did.
Why are we going through him every time we canít be than one dimensional, Gray was hopeless on the other side and yes the saint Albrighton also hopeless when he came in but donít worry itís only Chilwell who had a bad game ffs

I thought tielemans had a decent enough game. He was quick and one touch with the ball as the manager needs. He kept possession more often than not. He also provided the pass of the match for what shouldíve been yet another assist for Vardy who wasted it.

I think everyone agrees not many came out of last nights game with much credit.

6Too many had an off day. But with Chilwell it's the same week after week. As I asked above can someone tell me when something came of one of his forward runs - how many assists has he got this season.

The only assist I can recall is his header at Liverpool.

He gave Barnes no chance last night. Failed to play the ball to him early and only did when Chilwell had ran into his dead end and by then Barnes was hemmed in with 2 or 3 Newcastle players around him.

Barnes was hopeless last night, chilly put a few balls over that nobody even bothered attacking so was good in a way that he didnít give up and kept going.
They all had a bad game but it just fits the narrative to blame chilly and Gray but saying that Gray was one of worst, nothing came down his side but no just stick to blaming everything on Chilwell.
The fans are practically baying for his blood now evertime he gets the ball where I sit, theyíd love to have someone like Ben Marshall back

In the first half Chilwell ran up to Barnes and passed it 5 yards to him with a man on his back so he couldnít turn. In the second half Barnes went inside taking the full back with him and leaving space for Chilwell to go outside and cross it, but the thick XXXXXX carried on passing to Barnes even though he was marked

Calm down dear.
The Geordies set about us early and we didnít really settle into our style.
Morgan made some excellent tackles and hasnít had a mention for it.
Barnes and Chilwell frighten defenders when they go forward with the ball.
BR has the task of utilising these young talents and he will in time.
Vardy was cut adrift ( a la Puel era) and when he had chances he missed them.
I canít believe we are already moaning about stuff after the run weíve had with BR.
Itís embarrassing to read some of this stuff at times.

They didnít give Wilfred N a second to think all night. He was targeted and destroyed every time he touched the ball.

I think the problem lies in we still need an out an out target man so we can change tactics during the game. Chilwell might not have crossed but albrighton did to no avail.

What concerns me is that for the whole 90 mins we played too narrow, against a team playing a disciplined 5-4-1, who packed the central areas of the field in their half.

We tried to play like Man City, releasing players running into the box via a succession of inch perfect give and go's, but Gray and Barnes aren't Sterling and Sane/de Bruyne, and we only created a couple of decent chances, having tried that method all night.

We needed a plan B, and either didn't have one, or didn't try it. Rogers mentioned in the post match presser that they made some changes during the match, I couldn't see it.

Barnes was spending too much of his time 15 or 20 yards in from the touchline, IMHO. As for Gray, he doesn't have the skills to be a Premier League winger. He didn't play, or attempt, a first time lay-off all night, every time it was one 3 to 4 yard touch, then a pass, with the oppo still comfortably in position. We do need to fool someone into buying him off us this summer

Filbo, surely youíve watched him long enough now to know heís well below average with the ball at his feet, yes he is pretty decent at breaking up oppositions play but when it comes retaining the ball & creating something heís worse than poor.

Rafa has done his preparation on Wilf hence him being blitzed every time he touched the ball.
BR will be looking at his stats and weighing up Wilfs number of ball winning tackles against the number of times he loses it after those tackles.
Might be that Friday nights game will be a turning point in the managers view?
