'Leicester have lost to Tottenham and Manchester United in the past week, but might have beaten both. Previously, Liverpool were held at Anfield and, in one of the games of the season, they shared seven goals with Wolves and still left Molineux with nothing. They’ve lost at home to Cardiff, away to Newport, and managed to lose at home to Southampton as well. Those are the results of a hopeless side under hapless management and yet it persists, this nagging sense that a corner is approaching and losing faith now would be a terrible mistake'

Can't argue, that's just about where I am.

What a very good and accurate report.

My opinion is we have a very good squad with a very bad manager. When this is changed we will be top 4 or 5.

Better post my reply here too [8D]

A great piece. Well written and on the money.

One sentence in particular resonates with me, "Those are the results of a hopeless side under hapless management and yet it persists, this nagging sense that a corner is approaching and losing faith now would be a terrible mistake."

I have this feeling that we are going to hammer someone soon. A proper spanking, when it all clicks and we bang in 4 or 5.

Yet there's no tangible evidence to suggest that our return from the next three games will be any more than a single point.

My broken spirit is frozen to the core
I don't wanna watch us no more
Wouldn't it be good to be in your shoes
Even if it was for just one day?
Wouldn't it be good if we could win a game away?
Wouldn't it be good to be a Top 6 side?
The grass is always greener over there
Wouldn't it be good if we could live without that intensitee, over there?

Despite only being a Member and not a STH, I have seen the last four away Prem games plus Manyoo at home. We have not played badly in any of them, or outclassed in any of them (Chelsea yesterday anyone?) and those games have been against either teams who will be playing Champions League this week or are teams bang in form. And we have an incredibly young team. So I think we should stick with Claude, especially if the directive from Vichai (financially driven, loss of Thai income perhaps) was to go for youth. Apart from not being able to put chances away (a hatful yesterday) we also lack a real leader on the pitch. I am not saying bring back Morgan, perhaps Evans should be given the job. Someone who yesterday would have taken the penalty instead of the Vardy / Maddison nonsense. I am for stick rather than twist.

Bnet.

You miss the point a bit. You have absolute certainty that you are right in believing that Puel is useless. And that's fair enough.

The article is about such certainty - either puel in or out - is impossible to have.

It's an excellent piece.

Top 4 or 5 really?, I love your optimism but we have an ageing striker and no creative central midfielder so how will we get top 4 or 5.

“Spent the season playing artful football”
“Ndidi has shown signs of further growth”
Apart from those two false claims, pretty good article.

Are we going to see a repeat of the 'great escape season'?
That season we huffed and puffed, showed signs of qualitteeee but no end result.
Then it clicked in the last 10 games and the rest is history.
Or am I just being too optimistic?

that was a different approach le12, we had an attacking side that where frightened under NFP. Something happened, l know what l believe, but we actually got braver, we also play with fear under Le Knobhead. Its got to change.

It clearly wasn't NFP great escape otherwise he would have kept his job. We might have the same happen, Knobhead remains until the end of the season but someone else pulls (the right) strings. Hopefully we will follow this path and it'll be worth watching us until May.

Le12

I remember at about Xmas in the great escape season an amateur journalist/blogger who wrote his articles based on stats &tactics called it.

At the time a ridiculous statement, as we were as dead as Fulham and Huddersfield are now.

I wish I could find the article.

He basically summarised a well researched piece by saying luck is temporary. That statistically we were doing all the right things and far better than tge table showed. he thought we'd survive

It was a mad, brave call. The guy deserves his article finding....if only I knew who he was or what site he wrote on!

That would all make perfect sense bnet apart from one small fact. NP was sacked because he stuck up for his son, he wasn't sacked for football reasons, if it hadn't been for his son he would still of been at the club.
