RIP a friend, a lurker, a City fan.

I got chatting to a chap years ago in the Sports Cafe down in London whilst watching televised Leicester games back in the day, before I knew Nigel and his London HQ.

George Kwiatkiewicz was his name born to a Polish father and Italian mother who following the war came to live in Leicester. He was never a regular match goer but always followed the games and results avidly and enjoyed going to the occasional match in London or back in Leicester. When his father died a few years ago he moved back to Leicester.

I received a call from his wife yesterday to say he had been ill and died on Monday. I hadnít spoken to him for a while and didnít know of his illness.

Rest in peace George. You were a good man and I enjoyed your company immensely. I will always remember the frustrations of trying to get the Sports Cafe to put the commentary on.

Very sorry to hear this.
I too remember the chore of trying to watch City games in years past, and the memories created with those who were with you.
