Link below shows cause to be a pin that came loose. Surely the company would have done DD.

Makes sad reading for those that lost their lives.

There's a legal case in the US where brits died in a helicopter crash with lawyers saying that crash resistant fuel tanks are still not fitted to helicopters and if it had one some of the people in that crash may have survived and maybe this one?

In the case of the LCFC helicopter it dropped from around 430ft (131mts). There wasn’t a chance of them surviving that drop and the one good thing is that they’d have died instantly on impact. The fire would have made no difference thankfully.

But it wasn't fitted with a CRFS - had anyone survived the impact, unlikely as it seems, they at least wouldn't have burned to death. These Crash Resistant Fuel Systems are strongly recommended but there is no regulatory power at the moment to make manufacturers retrofit - and the reason is cost. Those young people who died in the Grand Canyon chopper crash earlier this year might also have survived, had their aircraft been fitted with a CRFS.
