Computer help please

The other day when I went on Front Row Sports in a desperate search to find a stream, I picked up a pop-up that will appear every so often in the right bottom corner of my screen. I cannot get rid of it. I've cleared my cookies. I have Adblock and AdblockPlus, but neither of them have been any help.

It pretends to be from Google, but I doubt that. It doesn't respond to any of my instructions beyond 'hide'. It's not particularly a nuisance, three clicks and it's gone, but I don't like having it. And yes, I have switched it off and switched it back on again - it waits for 20 minutes, just enough for you to get your hopes up - and then, zing, it's back again.

Anybody help?

Mac or PC? If the former check your apps via the finder to see if the crafty so and so's have sneaked an app in there.

Could try Malwarebytes, it's free and is pretty good at finding bad stuff.
If it only happens when you use your browser it sounds like it's attached itself somehow.

Go on to control panel-install , uninstall programs, scroll down & see if you can spot it there, it'll state the date it was installed so it should be quite obvious.

edit control panel not task manager

Make sure you run a full scan, reset chrome (in settings) or you can delete chrome and reinstall it or download opera with a built in vpn.

I'm rubbish at computers. Still, my pop-ups have disappeared since I installed malwarebytes (touch wood). I'll try Ccleaner as well. Thanks to all who've responded [smi]
