Much has been said recently about fate, and repayment for good and bad deeds. The chairman himself was a great believer in the concept.

Leicester City's incredible achievements coincided with the re-internment of King Richard III's remains, and it's hard not to imagine some cosmic connection.

I hesitate to ask, but is the recent ghastly accident some form of payback? Have the club and Vichai drunk too deeply from the cup of success, in a totally unexpected way?

This is probably all fanciful nonsense, but I keep having these thoughts. I hope no one finds this offensive; I just wanted to get it off my chest.

Certainly not an offensive post but I think you're looking a bit far into it. My thoughts are that if you do plenty of good, selfless deeds and positive actions, you will eventually receive this back in kind at some point. Likewise a lifetime of selfish, thoughtless and negative actions will eventually come back to you in some form simply because of the way you choose to live your life.

In terms of what has happened to Vichai and the club...just a terrible and tragic accident, no doubt caused by a catastrophic fault on the helicopter. For Vichai, karma has ensured that his lifetime of good deeds and selfless actions are highlighted by the magnitude of beautiful tributes (which are simply staggering) that have been paid to him. Add to this, the fantastic and unique club he has left as a legacy.

In the Buddhist tradition, trying to connect the dots on Karma is known as one of the four imponderables.

Attempting to contemplate this can lead to madness, according to Siddhārtha Gautama (Buddha):

"Whoever speculates about these things would go mad and experience vexation."

Speculating about the inner workings of something which does not exist would give anybody vexation.

Ooh, karma exists, in one way or another.
