Hibs Target Rooney

Hibs are hoping to sign Inverness striker Adam Rooney according to various reports today. However, the Jags forward has been the victim of much rumour recently but finds himself in a prime position to negotiate the best deal for himself as his current deal with the Highlands club runs out this summer. The in-form striker has bagged 14 league and cup goals so far this season and ended a barren run of six matches by netting in Saturday's 2-0 victory over Elgin in the Scottish Cup. Interest in ....

Grounds Departs Easter Road

On loan Middlesborough full back Jonathan Grounds has left Easter Road with Hibs announcing they have terminated the current arrangement which was due to expire on January 29th. Grounds, signed by previous manager John Hughes in August has largely failed to live up to expectation despite featuring in some 15 SPL and Cup ties. The 23 year old made his final appearance during Saturday's dismal 0-0 draw at home to Ayr United and the return of Callum Booth from his own loan spell at Brechin City ....

Nish Knocked Back China Move

Hibs striker Colin Nish has knocked back a move to China in order to fight for a first team role at Easter Road. Gaffer Colin Calderwood had allowed the 29 year old leave of absence from the squad which drew with Ayr United at the weekend to allow the former Kilmarnock man to travel to Cyprus and hold talks with Super League side Tianijin Teda. However Nish remains unconvinced about the move and travelled home hoping to force his way back into a starting role having fell out of favour after ....

Bamba Completes Leicester Switch

Hibs defender Sol Bamba has agreed a deal with English Championship side Leicester City which will see him sign for the Foxes immediately. The Hibees accepted a bid of around £250,000 for the powerful centre half who's contract was due to expire this summer. Bamba, an Ivory Coast International, has been looking to engineer a move from Hibs since last summer when he returned late from World Cup duty with his national side. Leicester's bid saw Bamba miss the Edinburgh Derby defeat by ....

Mcbride Free To Leave Easter Road

Hibs have told Kevin McBride he's free to find himself another club after the midfielder failed to impress manager Colin Calderwood. The 28 year old has made just a single appearance under the stewardship of the new gaffer. McBride was signed during the summer of 2009 when John Hughes brought him to Easter Road having previously managed the player at Falkirk. The player impressed the majority of the support with some fine displays initially however his form dipped after a spell on the ....
