Hearts 1 Hibs 0

Hibs fell to another Edinburgh Derby defeat after conceding a late goal courtesy of Hearts striker Kevin Kyle.

The home side had went into the game as strong favourites on the back of an impressive run of form but there was little to separate the sides in a poor first half.

The second half saw Hearts pile on the pressure which eventually told when Kyle nodded home after a fine cross from Arvydas Novikovas with only three minutes remaining on the clock.

Hibs recent form has saw them now lose 7 times in 10 games under new manager Colin Calderwood who once more rang the changes for this encounter.

Steven Thicot was drafted in for a rare start at right back and performed admirably in the role prior to failing to cope with Novikovas after his arrival onto the park as a substitute.

Colin Nish did have an excellent chance to put Hibs ahead with fifteen minutes to go but he drilled wide after being played in by a delightful ball from the otherwise subdued Derek Riordan.

With the news of Sol Bamba's departure alongside another derby defeat Hibs desperately need a couple of new faces in to give the club a lift prior to their next encounter - a Scottish Cup tie against Ayr United next Saturday.
