The ECB and Cricket Ireland today announced that England will take on Ireland in a one-day international in Dublin on August 25 2011.

The two teams are also due to meet in the ICC Cricket World Cup in Bangalore on March 2.

Next year’s fixture in Dublin will be held at Clontarf CC - venue for an ODI between Ireland and Australia earlier this year, which the home side lost by 39 runs.

ECB chief executive David Collier said: “We are pleased to have agreed this fixture with Cricket Ireland.

“Irish cricket continues to make excellent progress and I am sure that Ireland will provide tough opposition for our one-day squad ahead of the NatWest Series against India later in the summer.”

We at FansOnline have visited the venue previously, to watch our beloved Nottinghamshire CCC take on Ireland, read the review here.
