Almost There.

I can smell it…. Not the Morning Thunder that last night chilli has caused me to frequently drop in my office - The new season is approaching and like every pre-season I’m filled with the usual cocktail of optimism, hope, promise and yes wind. Coleman and Ranson seem to be approaching the task at hand in a different direction to past Chairman/Managers. So far there appears to be no players coming in after one last pay day, for the first time in ages the club seems to be building for a successful future and not looking for a quick fix for success.

It’s been a tough few months. I’ve had no interest in the Euro’s with no England to follow and ultimately to be disappointed with. I’ve tried Karting to pass the time, which a lot like sleeping with the cute girl in the office, is fun whilst it lasts and you think your going full belt only to realise your not as good as you thought as you limp across the finishing line realising that the last 5 guys who ran the course before you were not only better at it but also didn’t keep taking the tunnel too wide.

I even took up 5-aside football every Wednesday but like David McNamee I’ve kicked a ball only once or twice in the last 5 years. I not only realised that I’m not as fit as I was, but I can no longer pass a ball, or shoot for that matter, or run. Actually I was pretty crap in goal too. But still the Mrs keeps telling me it will help with my Man-Boobs so I should keep it up. Odd considering I thought she liked them. Maybe she feels inadequate that they are getting bigger than hers.

Speaking of Boobs, I watched Big brother to try and keep the Pre Football Season boredom at bay. I think coming from Coventry you naturally get excited when our city has any kind of coverage. With Beck’s going into the house I was excited and like following England in a tournament, ultimately let down by a couple of tits upfront. Though to be fair to Becks she offers more upfront than England would have over the last few weeks. I still watch and am waiting for her to go a whole episode without whipping them out. Still it keeps Darnell happy, though I’m still confused if they got it on whether it would be found on a Torrent site under interracial, beastality or BBW.

Still wanting for excitement, I turned to my one true love in life…… My Xbox, spending a fortune on games over the last few months didn’t help. All I have ended up with are limp wrists and even more masculine thumbs. I turned to music and caught the Foo Fighters in Manchester. Again for one night my boredom subsided only to hit the ground with a bump the next day when I found myself on every football news website checking if Eastwood had bloody signed or not.

The last week has been unbearable, my F5 key is warn out from refreshing TeamTalk and iccoventry. Still waiting for Eastwood, Westwood, Wood TouchWood and Torchwood to sign. Even Doctor Who is deserting me after this Saturday and from then on my Saturdays will be spent wishing the season was finally here and still wondering if “effing” Eastwood has signed yet.

In case you haven’t guessed I hate the closed season. It’s worse that its so close to being over, but with hardly any decent Pre Season games occurring, the £17 charge to see Cambridge is seeming more attractive by the day. Until then I will carry on Strumming my Guitar on the Xbox, Perfecting my one handed web surfing, Listening to the Foo Fighters and getting circles run around me in 5 aside to try and get down to a B-Cup. Oh and hitting F5 to see if Eastwood has bloody signed yet.

Bring on the new season, even if its going to be a Baz’less and Fox’less one, it’s got to be better than this.
