Coventry City - Sheffield Wednesday match preview.

The Sky Blues take on another team from Sheffield this Saturday as Sheffield Wednesday visit the Ricoh. In what is the first of a 12 pointer as City and Wednesday play each other twice in less than a fortnight.

Sheffield Wednesday, like United were formed out of a cricket Club, the players wanted something to do during the winter months so Wednesday was formed and would play on a Monday, as this flyer shows.

There was also a Sheffield team called Thursday Wanderers, f*** knows what day they played on.

Wednesday have dragged themselves out of the bottom three and will be looking to keep it that way, as it's at the expense of Leicester they should be able to achieve that regardless of the result on Saturday. Poor all season they have managed to turn things around and have started to pick up some points in recent weeks beating Colchester away and QPR at home by the same 2-1 margin.

City, who have been playing some good football of late under Chris Coleman but have struggled to find the net have slight injury worries over Mufsud, Best and Stephen Hughes who all suffered knocks against the Blades and Dann with a broken nose.

New signing Kasper Schmeichel looks set to be in the squad with Marshall and Dimi both looking at operations in the near future with Coleman admitting he's still looking at bringing in some striker options before the March 27th loan deadline saying.
"We are working really hard to try to bring in some more players, but it is not easy. We have been looking at players in the Premier League who are maybe not playing football and I have been disappointed with one or two we have spoken to in terms of their appetite for football."
