Sheffield United v Coventry City. Match preview.

Coventry travel up to South Yorkshire to take on the Johnny come latelys of Sheffield football when they take on the fourth team in the town, United. In recent years changing their badge from the Sheffield coat of arms to a couple of swords and a white rose in an attempt to establish an identity in an area steeped in footballing firsts and history.

Sheffield boasts the oldest football club in the world and the first local derby, when Sheffield F C played Hallam (also from Sheffield) and the second team in Sheffield. Then came Sheffield Wednesday, who signed James Lang widely considered as the worlds first professional footballer then finally Sheffield United.

Sheffield United, or "the Blades" as they've become known, in recognision to Rotherhams steel works, are sitting just above the Sky Blues in the Championship in 16th place and 44 points with the Sky Blues 2 places and 1 point behind.

Sheffields win away at Plymouth on Saturday was their first league win in eight games and are by no means clear of the relegation dogfight. A win for either team will put them within touching distance of the magic 50 point mark, a loss and either team could find themselves back in the mix.

Early news from the Sky Blues camp is that there are no new injury worries with Coleman hinting he may change the formation to get a result from the Sheffield game.
