Preston North End v Coventry City match preview.

The Sky Blues will be boosted by the news that Marcus Hall is set to return to the squad after an achilles injury in November along with Andy Marshall who has resumed full training although Dimi is expected to keep his place. A win would see City pull eight points clear of the relegation zone with a game in hand. Hawkins, McNamee and McKenzie are still out for the long term and Dowie has plans to bring some loanees in next week to add to his squad.

Although third from bottom, Preston have made an excellent start to 2008 going on a three game unbeaten run at home after strengthening their squad in the transfer window and have been one of the teams tipped to pull away from the bottom as we near the business end of the season. Preston have Chris Brown, Youl Mawene and Chris Sedgwick returning from suspensions and have added Polish International keeper Grzegorz Szamotulski to the books.

The last time City played Preston was at the Ricoh back in September. The televised game saw the City come away 2-1 victors with late goals from Adebola and Doyle after Patrick Agyemang took the lead early and looked the better side during long periods of the game.

The last time the two sides met at Deepdale it ended in a 1-1 draw with City coming from behind. The point for Preston was enough for them to secure the top spot of the Championship for the first time in 55 years.
