1971 is a long time ago but that was when we last beat Bristol City in a league game - however the wait is over and we have ended the hoo doo!

More to follow but here's the comments....

Cardiff City boss Dave Jones speaking after the match said "It certainly was a full-blooded, ding-dong derby match. We had a couple of situations where we out-numbered them and we didn't take advantage. Then we lost our shape trying to get a second goal and we let them back into the game. Brooker's effort, though, was off-side but our fight showed that our semi-final against Barnsley at Wembley is the furthest thing from our mind.My players know that no-one is guaranteed a place in that game unless their performances are of a consistently high standard."

Cardiff City lined up as follows : Enckelman, Blake, Loovens, Johnson, Capaldi, Whittingham (Ramsey 81), Rae, McPhail, Ledley, Thompson, Parry.
Subs Not Used: Oakes, Purse, Feeney, Sinclair.

Booked: Thompson.

Goals: Johnson 44, Whittingham 81.

Bristol City: Basso, Orr, Carey, Elliott, McAllister, McIndoe, Carle (Skuse 74), Vasko (Fontaine 46), Sproule (Brooker 69), Trundle, Adebola.
Subs Not Used: Weale, Byfield.
