Paul Parry gave the Bluebirds a perfect start as their quest for the playoffs and David Jones' dream of three trips to Wembley re-started. The bottom team in the league had most of the play but could not turn their first half dominance into goals. At half time the FA Cup semi finalists went in with a slender one goal lead.

It all went wrong in the second half with Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink getting a red card on 62 minutes and then the Bluebirds conceded a goal ten minutes later. A point wasn't really enough for either side and Cardiff are now 14th but with a game or two in hand on most of their rivals.

Cardiff: Enckelman, Blake, Johnson, Loovens, Capaldi, Whittingham (Sinclair 66), Rae, Ramsey (Scimeca 77), Ledley (Thompson 78), Hasselbaink, Parry.
Subs Not Used: Oakes, Purse.

Sent Off: Hasselbaink (62).

Booked: Blake.

Goals: Parry 11.

Att: 4,699

Ref: Kevin Wright (Cambridgeshire).
