Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle's frustrating summer in the transfer market continues as he is forced to discuss star defender Gary Cahill's future and also looks set to miss out on Arsenal's Jack Wilshere.

Centre-back Cahill is tipped as a future England international and rumours continue to surround his future- whilst Arsene Wenger has stated he does not wish to send Wilshere out on loan again this season after a successful spell at the Reebok last term.

The Frenchman went so far as to say Wilshere could play 'a few games this year'- whereas he started 13 games at the end of last season for Bolton.

Manager Owen Coyle has shifted his defence already this summer, bringing Marcos Alonso in from Real Madrid to replace Nicky Hunt who left for Bristol City last week.

And the former Burnley boss told Sky Sports: "Gary could play for anyone, with his pace, power and threat at set-pieces.

"He wants to be the best player he can be and that is something I like in a player," Coyle said, refusing to confirm or deny the transfer rumours.
