Bolton Wanderers American International midfielder Stuart Holden says he is targetting 'in his own mind' the last two games of the Premiership season for his comeback from a fractured fibula.

Holden joined the Trotters on loan in January but was injured in a challenge with Man City's Nigel De Jong during a USA friendly match against Holland in March.

As well as encouraging the USA team and aiming for a World Cup call-up, Holden hopes to join the Whites' survival battle for the games against Tottenham and Birmingham.

He told the BBC: "First and foremost, my duty is to the club, to Bolton... The World Cup is the bigger goal in mind.

"I have to start training and build up a bit of fitness again but I think I've targeted in my own mind the last two games - Tottenham away and Birmingham at home," Holden explained.

He continued: "Those are two games I'm looking to play in and help contribute and hopefully we're safe by that point and building to next season.

"I want to come back and make a stamp on the last two games of the season and show the fans what I showed them in my first two games," the Houston Dynamo midfielder finished.
