Bolton Wanderers were beaten by Chelsea twice in the same week- both times by a convincing 4-0 scoreline- but Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti feels the Trotters were unlucky.

The Italian admitted the sending off of Bolton's Jlloyd Samuel was the turning point- describing the home side as 'strong' up 'til that point.

He told the Bolton News: "It was a good performance because it was a difficult first half and Bolton were strong.

"They played a different system than the game at Stamford Bridge and they did their best to make it difficult for us but we are playing very well at the moment, they put a man-to-man on the midfield and during the first half Deco had to change position with Frank Lampard," he went on.

"I don’t quite agree with the rule that when you are going through and get a penalty the man should be sent off," he said of the Samuel incident.

He finished: "We have had that already with Petr Cech- for me the penalty is punishment enough and it does sort of kill games, but unfortunately for them that’s the way it went."
