Bolton centre-back Gary Cahill has warned negative-thinking fans to get behind their team and help improve the team's home form.

Wanderers have only won one point this term at the Reebok, and fans feelings towards manager Gary Megson have not improved.

And Cahill has admitted the boos and slow-hand claps heard against Stoke are starting to affect the players.

He told the Manchester Evening News: "I blank it out and do the things that have got me where I am now.

"But sometimes it's hard for certain players when there are things going on off the pitch- it affects some lads differently than others but we definitely heard it in this game," Cahill confirmed.

He went on: "We need to get a win here and get this place back to being an intimidating place to play.

"I still think it is but we need to do it collectively, the players, the fans and the staff," the former Villa defender finished.
