Halford is a no no. Simply not customer focused.

You get what you pay for and 'cheap' means 'nasty' in this town.

The problem with Blackpool however is that cash is king and nearly everyone judges services on cost. [V]

Totally disagree.[rle]
Cheap means not being ripped off like the major garages do.

Disagree with plumbs the main dealers & major chains are not often value for money.
A decent local garage is worth a shout.

Ask Cloverleaf on squires gate lane for a quote. They afaik dont do discount for cash :) so put it on your card.

Methinks Plumbs was being cryptic and not necessarily referring to automobile servicing [;)]

Me thinks you are most probably right TOK.

Couldve started a new thread though bleating about local folk not paying the going rate for qualified tradesmen.
Maybe had legs, Cash, Botched Jobs, H&S, Business tax, erm Eastern Europeans[8)] etc.
Might have been a good bat for him lol

I would recommend Stanmore Garage on Stanmore Ave.

Diesel?

My recommendation would be to sell/scrap it and get a proper engine [^]

I use a small garage and MOT Centre in the alleyway behind Westminster Road, North Shore. Really nice lads. Paid £150 for a FULL service on the Shogun last year and tomorrow it will have a short service for £75. They also never seem to find any issues on the MOT (up to now)

We have a Nissan just had ours serviced and replaced oil filter etc with genuine Nissan parts £65. Palmer Avenue garage. Not far from footy ground. We always take our cars to him for years now.

That wonít have been a major/full service Michelle that would have just been Oil/Filter+Labour.

A full service would be at least another £100 on top of that.

It was a full service. Brand new car first year service. Deffo full service and book stamped. Oil filter pollen filter. Air filter and oil

If it was a brand new car having a first service it would have to be done by a Nissan dealer to keep the warranty valid so is the Palmer Ave garage a registered Nissan dealer?

A first service on a brand new car is just oil/filter pollen filter and air filter as you say but thatís it so itís not actually a major/full service, trust me thereís a hell of a lot more involved, on a major/full service as they look at pretty much everything else that much moves, like Tyres, brakes, exhaust system, check all levels, etc etc so labour alone on a major/full service is often £100-&150 plus all the parts so your usually talking £200 minimum.
