Pool VHS tapes

Just come across a boxfull of old BFC VHS tapes..

Season reveiws from late 80's and through the 90's - a few cup finals inc 53, anglo italian and LDV..

What to do with them...????

Do anyone know the best way to convert from VHS to digital.. Some of the older season reviews will be worth watching again..

I copied a few onto DVD a few years back. Just connected VHS to my DVD recorder via scart and copied. The quality seemed to improve funnily enough.

Not got a DVD recorder anymore we just record on to skybox hard drive now[sad]

I used to buy them when they first came out - 87/88?

I'm sure they were around 20/25 - or over 50 in today's money[:O]

Used to be the only way of ever seeing replays of goals.

I used to like the totally unbiased commentary[:D]by the lad who used to drink in the Waterloo, some great stuff on there.

The videos all seem to just go over 4 hours so it was difficult to copy in high quality on a DVD unless you just left out last 10 mins.

My favourite was the 3-0 win over the nobs when Tony Cunningham got sent off after 10 minutes. The commentary is pure gold[:D]

Get an old video player, rig up a big screen and invite all the old guard round to yours. It would be a sell out.[:D]

Might even have to move it to Mossers back garden to satisfy the demand.

What could go wrong [:D]. Had 87/8 video for years, some top memories.

Going back to the lad who did the commentary he used to join in with chants at times, "here we go, here we go, here we go" suddenly bellows out along with "Who are ya, who are ya" One time after we scored he said you'll have to excuse me for a minute, next thing you see is him running on the pitch after an invasion from the West while the club cameraman carries on filming. Great stuff[:D]

Darren whiting was the commentator. He wasn't paid so hence the unprofessional nature but he was great !

Remember a Burnley home game when Deary hasafisticuffs with a clampett player and you can hear him in the background shouting " go on john, smack him one" !!.

1.1 home game vs man city was one of the best crows surges ever in the south paddock when Richard Sendall scored.

Shame city equalise with the biggest scrambled goal ever

TTP

It was 1-1 by the time I got in.

We were lined up outside, and I remember the old bill saying anyone sings anything and your nicked. A lad next to me shouted out Sea Sea ... got no further and that was the end of his night.

Coach escort all the way back to the M6 if i remember. Beattie's coach pulled in to some village, and everyone was rounded up and put back on, no chance of a beer at all, and the convoy of coaches was finally released just past Carlisle .

I've got about 100 old BFC VHS tapes and about 100 Lancs cricket matches too on VHS tucked away in the loft.

May just buy a cheap dvd/video combo recorder then sell it after.

TAM. Crowd that night was 20,000.

Newcastle, another one of those clubs who've always had 50,000 gates, [rle]

From memory the ground was getting done up at the time, main stand was being extended and there was a temporary golf stand to our left.

Temporary golf stands, there's an idea why didn't Oyston think of that one [:D]
