Away Supporters - Leafleting Campaign Tomorrow

In an attempt to raise awareness of the current situation at Blackpool Football Club and in football more generally, BST will be handing out 'Crisis Club' flyers to as many away supporters as possible before tomorrow's game.

The content of the flyer welcomes away supporters to 'our' club and explains that the lack of support they will witness in Bloomfield Road is a result of the ethical boycott and the NAPM stance adopted by many Blackpool supporters against the Oyston regime.

This initiative is supported by the FSF and the representatives of other crisis-clubs and we hope away fans will show solidarity and support it too.

The posts on the Barnsley message boards have been supportive of our plight so we want to show their supporters that our love for Blackpool FC still burns brightly - just that we are taking a temnporary leave of absence from Bloomfield Road until there is regime change.

If you are happy to get involved and help distribute flyers we will be meeting at 1.30 on the car park outside the West Stand.

Barnsley are expected to bring circa 3,000 supporters so we need as many volunteers as possible.

Hopefully some of these leaflets will be seen by home fans. Food for thought!
If help is needed to pay for them, all you have to do is ask.[^]

Someone should stand on central drive where coaches drop off and also do Manchester pub etc. Easy to approach people and no chance of stewards intercepting.

I assume BST the reason for such a late request for assistance to hand out leaflets is that you wanted to give "minimal interference opportunities"

I fully support BST but please accept my apologies for not volunteering as I have a pre-arranged (since Brett's Testamonial) day out in Kirkham tomorrow with some mates.

Hope it goes well...............Poultonbus [fb]1st! NAPM!!

Completely agree with fix here, before the Barnsley fans get them it should be priority No1 that all the home fans going in receive one. [^]

What is happening in Kirkham Mr. 🚌 ? [;)]

Maybe a few well positioned flyers might go down well in PR 4 ?

Yes - leaflets will also be handed to home supporters. BST will still continue to try and engage with our own supporters at every home game - this new initiative is an extension of that ongoing activity..

Pubs are ideal locations - great to have a proper conversation and really explain the reality of the omnishambles that is the Oyston regime.

Some fliers have already been distributed to volunteers who will be targeting certain pubs. There's a lot to cover though so if people can drop by, collect some flyers and shoot off to the pubs that would be great.

The late notice was purely logistical.

Hope it goes well, raised awareness is always a good thing.I live in Sheffield and if you chat to many football fans all that they know is that the oystons "run," the club, however they have very little knowledge of what is going on.When I explain people are incredulous and sympathetic. Good luck today BST and again thanks for all that you do.

It is a good idea. It is clear that despite strong efforts, it is clear that most non BFC fans do not "really" understand the extent of the problems we have here.

What might seem an ordinary person handed a leaflet, may just know somebody influential in the game or indeed a possible investor.

Its become to easy for people to just sit back and take the "wait for Belekon" stance. As we have seen, even the latest court case does not look a definite Belekon win.

Do the mushrooms still go in the Old Bloomfield?...not sure what the name is now

Went in there on a night game before attending a protest and there were plenty of them in there who were going in the ground....[|)]

Good news for me was I got my Oyston Out scarf and pin badge before attending the protest and then heading to the pub whilst the game was in progress

Old [:o)]Clown shoes KOKO [:o)]was at the window with his hangers on who were laughing and pointing at the protesters.......not laughing as much now are you[:o)]Shoes[:o)].......

...a few embarrassing climb downs (with costs awarded against you.... legal bullying cases that should not have happened in the first place). VB and his Legal Team biting chunks out of your wealth along with NAPM and the tide is slowly but surely turning against you[smi]

The icing on the cake would be if the Tax Man was to get involved again as they have in the past.

Great initiative and if we can further the message and make sure the truth gets out hopefully we can make more use of social media including Facebook, Twitter ,Instagram etc. As an exile I won't be in town today so sorry I can't help with distribution but the fact I'm not at the match is a pure indictment of the odious one's polices- they need to be kicked out !

The Two Mikes show on Talksport radio this morning mentioned the fact that 3000 plus Barnsley Fans heading to Blackpool and less than 1000 home Fans due to the Boycott.

They also mentioned other teams but if a live Radio show that is listened to people all over the UK and parts of the World does not highlight our plight then I do not know what will.

IMHO since a hard hitting interview between [:o)]KO[:o)] and Mark Saggers & Stan Collymore and suing fans The Talksport station and many presenters have continued to mention the Fans protests and bad way the Oystons are running the Club. [:o)]KO[:o)] is not the winner in these presenters comments[B)]

Before this interview[:o)]KO[:o)] used to get plenty of airtime to spout his [:o)]Philosophy[:o)][:(!] blah...blah....

Not that I should justify your question with a response, I'm making the ultimate sacrifice home AND away not supporting my football club, after over 40 years and over 75 grounds visited.

BST need to get their own house in order before telling or suggesting what others should do, IMO if course.

Edit to add: and fighting my own battle with the scum family without making a song and dance about it. Happy now?

Defo not a waste of time, for whatever reason most fans of other clubs think that your owners just have not invested, many have no idea your own fans have been sued or of the many other things they do

You are making a song and dance about it by criticising others for getting off there ars** and making an effort to try and do something. Wether it works or its worthwhile or not is irrelevant in this thread and they deserve better than your sniping.
Everybody handing out leaflets today will be a napm so straightaway they are your equal and more by doing something. At the very least they're not doing any harm are they?

Thanks to all the volunteers who helped out today - good effort.

Everyone reported back that the Barnsley supporters were very receptive and many were keen to learn more. Some real characters amongst them, all out having a great time supporting their team (as it should be).

So on the whole we received lots of positive comments and shouts of support.

Unlike other campaigns there were hardly any discarded flyers - we only found three outside the West (which we duly collected up and placed in litter bin).

Please could you send a quick e-mail with your name and contact details to chairman@blackpoolsupporterstrust.com so it can be passed to the relevant member of the committee.

A worthwhile couple of hours this afternoon, thanks to all who helped. The Barnsley fans were brilliant- supportive and vocal- and I was really pleased that most were already pretty clued up about our situation. One chap said that although he was already aware of our plight, seeing it written down brought it home to him how appalling the whole thing is and said he admires every Blackpool fan who has made the difficult decision to boycott and is standing firm.
I have to say I agree with him!
We'll be distributing the leaflets before every home game between now and the end of the season, so volunteers welcome!
