arsenal have often had blue on their socks, and even blue shorts. From 1998-2002 (JVC and Dreamcast) there was (very dark) blue piping on the shirts, I think.
As far as the away kit goes, it was almost always white (except for a couple of light blue numbers) up until the early '50s. It then became blue with white sleeves, then white with red trimming. In the late '60s the shirt was navy blue - just like Spurs' change kit. In fact, it was only when the FA banned navy shirts for looking a bit like the refs' black shirts that we started wearing yellow tops. Since then we've had half a dozen blue change shirts, if you count third choice ones. (Of course we also had a green and blue effort, but I'm trying hard not to visualise that one).
Anyhow, just saying nothing much is ever new.
And all that said, I don't like the blue blocks on the sleeve either.
