Merry Christmas and HNY 'and all of that.

Can only think from the no reaction that fellow YCCC fans realise like I do that we are not going to be challenging for the '17 CC.

A big downer, sort of kills the enthusiasm for these forums.

The England fans will no doubt believe they now have a new lease of life, banging on about Illingworth etc and how good it was.

Our fans know they are going to be sickened off in 2017 as YCCC sink to also rans in the CC

It's already a very sorry state of affairs.

The usual apologists like Boycott will sound off some crap about Inglund then ten minutes later just go and confirm the money for the garbage talk is in the bank account.

I am less confident than in previous seasons for the obvious reasons that we have a new coach, will have a new captain, wont have Root, Bairstow and possibly Rashid available for most/much of the season. Also Rashid, when available, needs to be accepted back by teammates who were understandably upset by his decision to turn his back on the CC finale. That probably goes for supporters too.

Can the top order get its form back, will we have a decent spinner available for the CC, is the seam attack still at its peak and what are our overseas options?

The treble next year. .
We're still a good side.
Ok I'm being optimistic, but if Lyth and Lees can capture their 2014 form, and the bowlers can keep fit, add a good overseas ....who knows !!

Blimey, leppard, talk about doom and gloom!! We still have both the best attack and the best batsmen in the country. They might not be available as much as we want, but they WILL be available for some games.
We have six top pace bowlers all of whom would walk into any other county side, a top spin bowler and the two best batsmen in the country, one of whom is the world's leading test run scorer for 2016 and several other batsmen who are top class county players.
Our coach and new captain are fresh to their roles and will be looking to prove themselves.
We can anticipate a decent overseas signing and the liklihood that the England players will be available a bit more.
And we have pride in a team that is largely Yorkshire born and bred, unlike the bunch of foreigners that Saffer Strauss helped to the Championship by his biased, despicable rulings on availability.
So, happy Christmas and a happy new year to all, as I for one am looking forward to seeing our boys knock seven shades of sh*t* out of the foreign mercenaries and match fixers who make up the rest of the Championship.

Great post Rick T. I'm with you.
Don't think we'll see much of Joe and Jonny. And who knows about Rash, Plunket and Willey ?
But we can certainly challenge on all three fronts next year.

Happy New Year to you Rickster, but let's be reet,Gillespie was a super coach only on the back of Jonny B in the last winning season without Jonny doing it for him,Gillespie knew it was time to come up with the excuses and cut and run.

YCCC can only come up with a golden generation through certain times, then by the laws of biology it dries up,but still going up against southern jealousies that go to overseas produced but allowed by their ECB friends.

Yorkshire CC will win XXXXXX all in 2017.

Back to the old days,of who cares.

but the success of Yorkshire cricket to the county of Yorkshire and their people means more than most other people not from Yorkshire could ever truly understand.

Oh I think the pace bowler have a couple of more years in them. Yes they age together and there will be a collective decline but not by that much next season nor I think the season after. And with this Aussie batsman signed up we will be very competitive.

Agree that the old guys are good for one more season, but I hope we have got a young raw pacer coming through pushing for first team, that type of youthful enthusiasm should hopefully inspire the old guys.

Matt Fisher was due to be the next 'cab off the rank'

Not sure if there is another kid in the pipeline.
